    Need help lowering CYA

I had similar CYA levels last year and ended up dumping about 20% for my pool (1500 gallons) then refilling it. Repeated this for about 5 times, maybe more don't remember. I didn't want to do more than 20% to protect the liner a little bit from the sun. Was able to get it down to 30 CYA after...

    Extra powder plus from Leslie's

Got it. I was mainly trying to ask what sort of situation can I use it in. From reading here you never really use it since it's about keeping up with FC using LC. For example, can I use every every so often to replace LC just to use it?

    Extra powder plus from Leslie's

They got me to buy the 12 pack powder power plus shock , or cal hypo 73%, for a whopping 100$ before finding this site 3 weeks ago and now I went back to return and they dont accept it. Sigh. Anyways I need to find a way to use it if it's even worth it. I'm doubtful and I'm thinking of calling...

    Cloudy blue water

FC stayed high at 19 overnight and it looks clearer. Will continue SLAMing until 3 conditions are met. Will plan to do OCLT tonight. Before testing it at night, do I add the target FC slam level or leave as is and just take note of the reading and compare to the morning reading? Also, what...

I'll backwash once I get home ,thanks. I bought a new hayward top valve and it came with a new gauge so I'm going to rule that out. The sight glass is clear and with a little bit of sand. When I had the algae bloom 3 weeks ago I did do backwash often and it was coming out green.
