Ttrying to prepare the ground before we get the pool

Just remember, it can be flat and still not be level, and that will be a problem. You need within 1 inch of level all the way around. I got mine within 1/2 inch of level using nothing but hand tools and a water level, and it wasn't that difficult. (labor intensive, for sure.) I got the pavers...

Ttrying to prepare the ground before we get the pool

I can tell you from experience that it isn't easy to do that. The pool isn't perfectly round (its close, but not perfect.) My recommendation to you is to spend your time getting the ground as absolutely flat as possible. ALWAYS find the lowest point, and remove earth to lower the high points...

Do I really dump 800 lbs of salt into my pool all at once?

Re: Do I really dump 800 lbs of salt into my pool all at onc This is specifically NOT true of the intex swg. When the salt level gets high, the current draw will get too high and the transformer will burn out. My guess is that there is a safety fuse in the transformer. Unfortunately the...

Do I really dump 800 lbs of salt into my pool all at once?

Re: Do I really dump 800 lbs of salt into my pool all at onc I've always used pellets from the hardware/big box store, though my usage is 200lbs so maybe this method won't scale up to 800... With the pellets they dissolve much faster with a water current. I took a couple old t-shirts, tied...

    Intex SWG problem

I would also recommend getting salt level test. If the salt level gets too high, you will burn out the transformer in the intex SWG and render it useless. Every time I have had the low salt warning on mine its been because the cell isn't clean. It may LOOK clean but its not. Fill it with...

intex metal frame (ultra) cleanup issue

I'm just setting up my first intex (ultra) metal frame pool and I noticed after it rained that water built up in the seam around the pool where the liner hangs off the frame. I would assume if the blue version (non-ultra) has the same design it would have this same issue. I am thinking that...

Widemouth skimmer mounted to Intex above welded seam

I've seen pictures of a number of people hard plumbing the pool, and most of them are using 90 degree elbows on the return fittings. How much better is that really over the plunger valve in terms of flow restriction? Has anyone actually tested it?

Widemouth skimmer mounted to Intex above welded seam

I purchased a return fitting to match the skimmer (waterway) I picked up for my new 18' x 52 ultra frame. After comparing it to the intex one, I've decided to go with the Intex one -- it seems equally sized to the waterway one. So unless you want something other than an eyeball return, I'm not...
