How to fix a cracked pump housing

Yes, I just melted the crack together with the soldering iron without using any other plastic. In the first photo you can see the first step. Melt that line crack, the plastic will melt to the sides, then melt each side again to the inside of the crack. You need to work both sides of the crack...

How to fix a cracked pump housing

I tried the JB water weld without success maybe is the extreme pressure of water that eventually pulls it off. I guess you can try but after I did the plastic welding with soldering Iron I fix it and is working fine now.

    Cracked Filter Element

OK, you will need a soldering iron $16 minimum 60 watts and a small metal screen or better SS mesh. You press the broken piece together and in a continues motion following it's direction burn the crack. This is call tacking I believe. The melting of the rubber will push the material to the...

Does a SS brush damage the plaster in anyway in a in-groud pool? Should I use light force or can I go hard on it?

I recently started using the BBB method. If I use bleach like clorox doesn't it has iron that will lead in time to pool staining?

How to fix a cracked pump housing

Thank you, but this repair is working perfect and in the case it didn't you can cut a small piece of metallic screen placed on the repair spot and using the soldering iron it will melt the plastic surface and incrust itself into it for added strength.

How to fix a cracked pump housing

This is what I did today. There was a crack line in my Hayward pump housing. Epoxies and other bonding products won't work with this type of plastic and in this high pressure environment. I was not feeling like spending $180 to replace the housing so using plastic molding technique with a...

    Carli in Puerto Rico

As mentioned above, you do not need a weekly "shock". Be careful with the cal hypo since it adds calcium to your pool and eventually can cause scaling if the CH (calcium hardness) level gets too high. Most of us use the pool calculator to calculate our chemical additions. Thanks for the...

    Carli in Puerto Rico

I have a question. I understand that once a week I should shock my pool to get rid of CC. Now, if my pool is 13,500 gal. with a CYA of 35 ppm how-many pounds of (chlorine) I am using Re-Fresh a powder that is 68%cal-hipo should I put in? Or which is the mathematical procedure? By the way I...
