I have followed the shock process. I am aware I let the chlorine dip thats why I shocked it when the CC was high. Yesterday the readings were fine and today its back down.. It did get fairly warm today though.

How does the water temp affect the CYA readings?

I know I know. I was just curious to what they showed compared to what mine were since I thought the chlorine reading was wrong.

Before I poured the bleach in it was 0. I havent tested today as im at work. I will tonight. My point was that I shouldnt have tested that high to begin with as Linen confirmed. Even after reading the extended testing im not sure of anything I did wrong

Question So how would the CYA be affected during the summer and evaporation. Its getting close to the temps to start rising here and I have a good amount of evaporation? So could I slowly lower cya that way or does it not work that way.

It wasnt the factory lid from what i could tell. Although I couldn't see a crack im sure there was one. Finally narrowed down a spot that it was leaking at. There is really no telling what stuff the people that had the house before me used or did. They were some really strange folks.
