Springtime isn Mississippi... what is this?

Still new to the pool world, still learning so much! I have been noting green bundles at the bottom of the pool, mostly in the deep end towards the drain. Water is very clear, no issues with chlorine. SWG keeping FC in the nine range. CC is consistently 0.0. CYA remains a bit low at 40-50...

Do I have a filter problem?

Thanks. I'll pull the valve off the top in the next week or. Thanks for a logical approach. Sound s better than pulling all the sand out to check laterals.

Do I have a filter problem?

Not sure where this return is in the loop, but it is nearest to the pump and equipment. Other returns are returning to deeper areas of the pool and not as noticeable.

Do I have a filter problem?

No. No worter or clarity issues. No bathing as of yet this year, but none previously.

Do I have a filter problem?

I have seen this usually daily since pool opening/construction a year ago. I brushed off the sand about three hrs ago. Last backwash about a week ago, pump is running it's usual schedule, I did discuss with my builder, who discounted it. I've seen threads regarding broken laterals, but...

Anyone use Best Pool Shop in Pasadena?

regular actuator would save 30-40 dollars.

Anyone use Best Pool Shop in Pasadena?

Yes, I've been looking. Separately, they are around $400. Vita kit has the bypass kit for 349. Best pool shop has the kit for $309. I'm going to check them out. If I use my Chase Sapphire card, I can cancel easily. May call polytec and see if they have a deal.

Anyone use Best Pool Shop in Pasadena?

Buying parts online. Best Pool Shop has a good price for the Pentair Heater Bypass kit. Wondering if they are legit, or too good to be true...

Looking to upgrade to Intellicenter and SWG,

Beginning to try to fine tune the SWG now. As I understand it, the cell is on anytime one is in pool or spa mode and greater than the speed necessary to trigger the flow switch. Currently have pool mode set at 1200 RPM 24/7. It appears that I need 1800 to trigger the salt cell. I had Speed...

Looking to upgrade to Intellicenter and SWG,

Well, instructions are dangerous for me! I tend to overthink from time to time. When I hooked up the THREE wires for the RS-485 connections, in the same figures, Pentair discusses 3-wire connection. Included in that section is the switching of the jumper to enable 3-wire control.... which I...

Looking to upgrade to Intellicenter and SWG,

Yes, I've seen and downloaded the three manuals. I do see the listing of circuit names, but not an explanation of them. I had lowered the temp setting prior to the pic today, as I did not want heat to come on. See the pic now. I have the pump up to 2600 RPM, app indicates 50 GPM, so above...

Looking to upgrade to Intellicenter and SWG,

I have read the Automation Systems - Further Reading article. I did confirm the LINE side connection of the MasterTemp at AUX1 (second from left relay.) It is the far left conduit in the box. See other pics. I think I am set up correctly based upon reading and your pics. May be that I just...

Looking to upgrade to Intellicenter and SWG,

Well, the project is progressing. Pump and SWG up and running. The pool sweep is wired to the load side of Aux1, as above. Heater to Line side, Aux1 also. I assume I should assign that circuit as master cleaner. Correct? The system sees the MasterTemp. When I call for heat at either the...

Looking to upgrade to Intellicenter and SWG,

That appears to be the current issue at least. It has been observed recently with the new and ongoing migration of accounts to the new app. Got on the Intellicenter2 site. Guess I need only a few speeds. I assume the AUX circuits will show as features once circuits are assigned. Correct?

Looking to upgrade to Intellicenter and SWG,

Thought so regarding the schedule. So.. Just got off the phone with Brandon from Pentair. As you might be aware, they are migrating from the Intellicenter2 app to Pentair Home. This migration has caused issues recently due to migration of existing accounts. He indicated that new accounts...

Looking to upgrade to Intellicenter and SWG,

OK. I'll take the extra info out. According to support, they require 8 characters, Upper case, lower case, number, and spec character. Tried without a spec character, booted me. Should I run the pool on schedule or egg timer for 24/7? I assume schedule. Thanks as always!

Looking to upgrade to Intellicenter and SWG,

I have. Do you think it's worth running a CAT5 cable out closer to see if we can get a better connection?

Looking to upgrade to Intellicenter and SWG,

Making some progress. The intellicenter installed yesterday. The panel is connected to the internet, performed an OTA update to the firmware, but can't get it to register the account. Pentair support also unable. I suspect the connection is slow. The connection at the panel confirms 100...

I understand. That's what I was doing. We're good now. Bet the gasket was just a bit dry.

    sensor install leak potential

Currently I am in the process of installing an Intellicenter. I installed the water temp sensor yesterday and struggled initially to get the site to stop leaking. I adjusted the sensor, adjusted the tension on the clamp, and finally removed the sensor and coated the gasket with a small amount...

Looking to upgrade to Intellicenter and SWG,

I got the panel loaded up today. Haven't been able to schedule the electrician to change the old sub panel out. Obviously missing the wiring external to the panel. Question: for the neutral pole on the 220V breakers, would I add the neutral coming back from the pump, Polaris, lights, etc...

Looking to upgrade to Intellicenter and SWG,

Thanks again. I've been reading all the manuals. It's hard to read and understand the user manuals without the visual input of the actual panel. I think there's a demo site that allows user input. Do you think visiting that site would be worthwhile? -MR
