That language is on the website. Not on the box or display in my local store.
Also, whoever keeps changing my thread title please stop. I didn’t post here to ask a question. I posted to warn forum members who may be in the habit of buying MA at Lowe’s that they’ve deceptively swapped products.
I perused the threads and yes, there have been many discussions over the years about sourcing, pricing, and concentration of MA. My point in posting this is to warn anyone who has been buying the Kem-Tek brand from Lowe’s recently that they’ve swapped the 31.45% product for a 14.5% product. It’s...
Just recently visited my local Lowe’s to buy some muriatic acid. They had the same brand I was buying last year, in the same packaging. At first, I was surprised to see that the price fell from ~$20 for two gallons to about $16. That is, until I noticed that they had swapped 31.45% for 14.5%...
Just purchased a Niya 50 and ran it through its first full cycle. I’m very impressed with how throughly it cleaned the pool, particularly the bottom. It moved methodically back and forth across the bottom of the pool in a lawnmower-like fashion. We have an 8ft deep end and the Niya had no...
Shopping around online, I see many places selling the head of this cleaner for about $200, while full kits are ~$500. Does anyone have experience with purchasing the head, necessary hoses and fittings separately? Which components are needed for this to function properly? Our pool has a dedicated...
Now I’ve dosed about 6 cups of MA into the pool (~20k gallons). According to Pool Math, that should’ve dropped the pH from 7.9 to 7.5 which is exactly the readings my meter was giving. Now the drop test looks like 7.6, so close enough. These results are diverging at higher pH for some reason.
I use a TDS meter for salt and pH.
I have a TDS meter with salt and pH functions. There was little disagreement between the meter and phenol red for months. Now they’ve diverged. As I edited up top, another test kit I had available reads closer to the TDS meter.
Second Edit: Now this is really weird. TDS meter reads 8.4 in neighbor’s pool but phenol red test reads 7.4. In my pool, the TDS meter is reading .3+ LOWER, but in his pool it’s reading a full 1.0 HIGHER than the chemical test. I can’t make any sense of this.
Edit: I just tested with a second...
I’ve been trying to dial in the VSP speed for our Jandy TruClear SWG, and I’m getting this bubble forming in the top of the chlorinator. I assume this is chlorine and hydrogen gases that aren’t being dissolved or carried down line. The VSP is set at 1750 which is about 50%. There’s no air in the...
So today our AquaLink TCX system has just gone completely crazy. Pump shutting off, chlorinator set to boost, heater turned off (from on), and pool lights toggling on/off on their own. Anyone else having issues now or experienced anything like this?
Yes, that’s the first link I posted above. Note that this document also says the PDA doesn’t integrate with home automation. BUT the second link I posted says it DOES work with the Alexa skill. Again, contradictory information.
There’s contradictory information re: home automation and the various AquaLink systems. See this link which says the PDA and TCX systems DON’T integrate with home automation...
Does anyone here have an iAquaLink TCX and have you ever successfully used it with the Alexa skill? I’ve managed to enable the skill, but no devices are ever discovered. 🤷♂️
Yes, AquaLink. Speaking of that, I have never been able to access the web version of the app. It always says that our system is offline. Only the mobile app works, but that doesn’t seem to give us full system settings. Any ideas?
Edit : Alexa skill also doesn’t work.
So would you recommend that I back down the RPM until I get a no flow warning from the SWG? Then add a couple hundred RPM and use that as my low speed setting for most of the day with a couple hours at higher speed for more effective skimming?
Can I do the same thing with the heater? Back down...
I’ve added our specs to my signature.
The concern I have with relying on the SWG to tell me when the flow is too low is that it uses a gas trap. Detecting the accumulation of explosive gas is less than ideal, IMO. Again, I know it’s a remote possibility… I just wish the TruClear used a proper...
Hey there fellow cement pond enthusiasts! Recent lurker, first time poster here.
My parents just filled their brand new, 20k gallon plaster pool back in January. Being that they’re retired, they decided to manage the pool themselves, which has turned into yours truly becoming the de facto pool...
