    Algae or not?

Hi All. I checked the Poolbrite bottle and it says the ingredients are: Sodium Dichloroisocyanurate 643.5 g/kg Copper (metallic) 2.5g/kg (Derived from Copper Citrate)

    Algae or not?

Just wanted to update this thread with some news. When I wanted to buy chlorine recently the brand that I usually buy (HTH) was out of stock, so I got a bottle of a more expensive brand (Poolbrite). To my surprise, the pool steps were completely clean a few days later.

    Algae or not?

@Bperry. Thank you for responding. Honestly I don't monitor it that closely...I put some chlorine in every day and just do a strip test once a week or so. I do get a few green patches in the pool now and again and then just brush it off. Not sure what this stuff is though.

    Algae or not?

Thank you, will definitely try that. We just use tap water, no well water.

    Algae or not?

Hi All, I would appreciate it if anyone can give some advise on how to get rid of these stains on the "grippy" area of my pool steps. It's difficult to see exactly what it is, but to me it appears to be algae growing in tiny holes and crevices in the rough non-slip areas of the steps. It could...

    Fixing my TA and PH

Hi All, I was wondering if any one can give me some advice on this. I just moved into a new house and found that the water in the pool was extremely acidic. I bought some test strips at the pool shop to get a rough idea of what is going on and the PH and Total alkalinity did not even register...

    TA and PH Constantly Dropping?

Thanks for the quick responses. It's not a saltwater pool. I've used bleach to shock the pool in the past, but otherwise I'm using standard granular chlorine found in the shops. For the first couple of years that I had this pool there were no problems with the PH, then last summer this...

    TA and PH Constantly Dropping?

Hi guys, I was wondering if anybody can advise on this issue. I have a small in-ground fibreglass pool and for some reason I'm having a really hard time keeping the TA and PH stable. I would add the necessary chemicals to get the TA and PH to recommended levels and then it will immediately...

    The green mile

Thanks for the advice. It looks like that one shock did the trick. After I made this post the water started clearing up and 24 hours after I added all the bleach the water was as blue and clear as I haven't seen it in months!

    The green mile

Hi All, I'm hoping someone can give me some advice on this. I have a small 15,000 liter in ground fiberglass pool that used to have nice and clear water, then 2 weeks ago we had some rain, the water turned green and I've been battling to get it clear again since then. Unfortunately I can't...
