    Pump Problems after Storm

Had PB come out today and repair under warranty. Charged $75 for a visit fee. Had to replace the circuit board within the pump. He says it most likely had lightening strike close and fry it. It was the 5th one he has replaced since Tuesday for same reason. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Pump Problems after Storm

Hello everyone. We had some severe storms here yesterday and last night in NJ. Lost power a couple of times, and this morning when i was outside checking on damage, I noticed the pool filter was not running. I went to turn it on, to notice that the breaker for the pump in the control unit was...

    TFP Methods Definitely Work!!

Last year was my First open season with my pool. I followed this site to maintain my pool from day 2 (day one was the pool installer and had to be them in order for my warranty to be honored). I was very anxious to open my pool this year to get things going and wasn't sure what I was going to...

    Closing myself

First time pool owner with safety extremesh cover. My question is with putting on the mesh cover in regards to my waterfall. The cover has been custom made, and came with a thick wire and 2 bumper type of additions to go around the waterfall area. Does anyone have any insight on how to attach...

Yea that wasn't the price I paid. The sears store had it by the foot, not sure what the actual price was, but I'll repost if I'm there again soon.

    Changing how I backwash

The Sears Hardware store by me carries this hose. I have even hit it with a weed whacker and still has no leaks. I picked up about 30 feet of it, and it is the best thing I could find next to an actual fire hose, which I also have but haven't needed. The fire house in my area was replacing some...

    Solar Cover versus Solar Rings

Unfortunately I have not gone with either of the options yet, although I am me leaning towards the rings for the reasons you actually specified. I currently don't have a place to store the cover, yet the rings can be transported easier to an empty shelf in my garage. I am however collecting some...

    Strange results in alkalinity

None that I had noticed. Only place I could think of scale would possibly be on rocks from waterfall. I hadn't run it in a week or so, and I hadn't looked at it up close prior to starting it up today. I'll retest in the morning and take it from there.

    Strange results in alkalinity

I did do it for the second test that resulted in the 110 reading. Being that it was higher than originally thought I carefully double checked the test by meticulously following the extended testing steps.

    Solar Cover versus Solar Rings

Thanks for the input Jason. Also another question. With the cover on, will it allow the sun to warm the pool when left on during the day, or will it act as a barrier and not allow for optimal heating?

    Solar Cover versus Solar Rings

I am in the market for a solar cover or solar rings to help maintain my pools temperature. I do not currently have a heater, so want to keep it as warm as possible without the heater investment. Iunderstand the main concept behind the covers are to preven heat loss, not to heat the pool, so...

Help with SWG and chlorine level

Thank you. I think I will do the over night test just to confirm and wait for the weekemd before I shock it. Temps are going to drop the next couple of days and if I get the FC back in check the SWG will not generate chlorine because the temps will be too low.

    Where is www.poolcalculator.com ?? It's gone

Is there an update for the iphone app? I don't know if it is only in my area, but I noticed that it seams the 6% bleach is being replaced with 8.25% concentrated, while the calculator on the PC version works great, and has the ability to manually input the percentage, the iphone app does not...

Would like to sound intelligent when pool company comes

RobbieH, The reason I mentioned CYA is because I was thinking shock as it is described here and the shock [process of raising and mainting a certain FC level, why raise if CYA was not there to help maintain it. It does however make sense now in your comment that they simply they "shocked" it by...

Another thing you could do for the ONkyo, while it doesn't have a remote, you could always add an apple TV to it, then you could stream the Ipods that way without needing the dock. The apple tv could be added to anything that allows an input for that matter, then you could set your volume to a...
