Pool flooded with mud and mulch after severe storms

So we had another spring storm here in North Texas this past Monday night and I woke up Tuesday morning to a beautiful tan colored pool :) What's the best way to get this baby back under control? I have never had this much silt / dirt in my pool. I just cleaned the cartridge filter, brushed down...

Handling four day freeze in Central Texas, with power outages

To chime in here...we are in Dallas and our fiberglass pool's ice is about 2" thick now but the pumps are still doing their best to move water. My concern is so much water is locked up in the ice that my level is really low and I can't add more water since our water lines are frozen. So...when...

Does Strainer Pot need to be filled to the top??

I have a Hayward VSP (SP3200VSP) that has been running great since we built 5 yrs ago. Just this summer I have noticed that when priming the pump after cleaning the filter, the strainer pot doesn't fill all the way up to the clear lid...but it used to. Right now the water is even with the top...

Warrior SE -- love this little bot!

So we have been fiberglass pool owners for just over 5 yrs now and have done manual vacuuming since day one. I never really minded vacuuming as it was a little quiet time for me but recently the number of leaves in the bottom was getting out of hand. I started doing some research on here (thanks...

Warrior SE new owner - first question

Okay cool...thanks for the 2 hr confirmation. It did a great job but missed a couple of spots. Round two was much better. Love this thing already!

Warrior SE new owner - first question

Just received my Warrior SE from Marina Pool and I love it! First question...during my first use it stopped on the bottom, blinking light stopped, after about two hours. The control panel was still glowing like it was ON but the bot wouldn’t move. I thought the cycle was to be 3-hours long. I...

    Dolphin E10 Review

Forgive me if this has already been asked or answered...but...could the E-10 be used in a fiberglass pool? We have a smaller 14x30 free form pool.

    Mustard Algae?

Does this look like Mustard Algae as well? I just opened the pool about two weeks ago. FC 5.5 as of today's test. Guessing SLAM is the next thing I need to do? - - - Updated - - - Does this look like Mustard Algae as well? I just opened the pool about two weeks ago. FC 5.5 as of today's...

Green and cloudy, no CC, passed OCLT

Your issue sounds almost identical to mine. All summer the water has been great, but then we traveled for a couple of weeks and I wasn't able to keep up with the pool (fiberglass and SWG) as I usually do. I started noticing what looked like rust-colored 'stains' on the vertical surfaces in a few...

    My Pool Adventure: Southeast Louisiana

You're going to love it. We had our fiberglass pool installed last January and it's been soooo easy to maintain! We too have two deck jets but we rarely use them except for accent before a pool party.

First salt test, appears I'm creating salt!

So I am seeing the same thing I think...my last 3 salt tests were 3600, 3200 and 4000 today. So, wondering how that salt number can go up like that...or...do I need to factor in the +/- accuracy and these readings aren't too out of whack. I am using the K-1766 kit as well.

    Too much suction...vacuum hose bending...

Only valve is for the deck jets but it's on the return side. Would that help?

    Too much suction...vacuum hose bending...

How to stop this? Vac head has so much suction that the head is tough to move across the floor at times. Hose will kink at the skimmer or if the hose gets curled...due to high suction. I have drilled about a 3/8" hole in skimmer plate but still too much suction. Fiberglass pool with VSP...

    Can I upsize from T-Cell 3 to T-Cell 9?

Running about 10 hrs a day at 65-75% SWG setting today.

    Can I upsize from T-Cell 3 to T-Cell 9?

My pool is 11,000 gallons and the builder installed the T-3, but with the Texas summers I thinking it might be too small and working too hard, thus it will die quicker. When it does, it is possible to swap the T-3 for a bigger T-9, or would I have to replace the entire system to get a bigger...

Manual vacuum pressure too strong in fiberglass pool

Here ya go...the brass spigot at the top with the hose attached is to drain excess water. I have drilled a hole in the skimmer plate but it doesn't seem to help much if any at all. Maybe it needs to be bigger. The suction is so great that if the hose is kinked it will bend and kinda suck itself...

Manual vacuum pressure too strong in fiberglass pool

Only the valve for the deck jets. Would that lower the suction power?

Manual vacuum pressure too strong in fiberglass pool

No main drain, only the skimmer, so I will drill a small hole to start. Thanks!

Manual vacuum pressure too strong in fiberglass pool

How do I reduce the amount of suction when I manually vacuum my pool? It is so strong at times that I fear I will be another pole or I have to turn the head to break the seal to move it. My pool is fiberglass with only one skimmer. I put the skimmer plate on, fill the hose via the closest...

CH is high in new fiberglass pool

Heading to get the bleach now. Just pour it in and let the pumps run? Sorry for all the questions...new pool owner and trying to read Pool School as much as I can :)

I also just bumped my Aqua Rite SWG up to about 80%...guessing that will help too. Off to get some bleach now!!

CH is high in new fiberglass pool

Thanks. Using the Pool Calculator for FC, I see if it lists BLEACH and how much, but I don't see liquid chlorine. How do I figure how much liquid chlorine I will need for a 10,800 gal pool to get from 3.6 - 8.08 FC? - - - Updated - - - Hi Jason, I think it's odd too. As far as I know the only...

CH is high in new fiberglass pool

I finally got my Taylor TF-100 Kit (and I added the Salt Kit) yesterday and did my first test. I also had Leslie's do it before hand so I would have something to compare/contrast against. This is for a brand new (6 month old) fiberglass in-ground pool. Here are the results and keep in mind this...
