    Leak in Light Screw Hole

It's been 4 days and I've had almost no noticeable water loss. We've had all hot sunny days so I'm sure a little has evaporated but I have not had to add any water. I had the leak detection company out today. They plugged the skimmer and tested with air from the line at the valve. It held...

    Leak in Light Screw Hole

Quick update... I tried to dye test for the leak around the light and could not find it so I called the leak detection company back. He found another tear in the liner at the light. This time he got in and applied patches to it and it's no longer leaking. He tested the entire liner and found...

    Leak in Light Screw Hole

He made it sound like it was the screw hole that was leaking. He said that was the only leak he found. He told me that the patch he put on probably wouldn't work since the water was so cold at the time. This was in March in New Jersey and it was still pretty cold out. Thanks for the video...

    Leak in Light Screw Hole

Leak guy told me it was the actual screw hole that was leaking. I’m pretty sure that patch is going behind the ring. This was from his report.. “An electronic leak detection was performed on the pool. A scan of the vinyl liner revealed a tear in the screw holes under the pool light. A...

    Leak in Light Screw Hole

Looking for some advice. I had a problem last summer with a leak. I had a leak detection company come out in March before I opened the pool. He found the leak in one of the screw holes for the light. It’s a wet niche light. He tried to patch it but told me it probably wouldn’t work because...

Inground Vinyl Pool Lost Most of it's Water Over The Winter

Started filling it, but it's so discolored, shrunken and has so many wrinkles in it we decided to replace it. Turns out I got this liner 7 years ago. I've had problem with it since I got it. The pool is not perfectly symertrical and the installer only measured the corners on one side. I...

Inground Vinyl Pool Lost Most of it's Water Over The Winter

It doesn't look good. The shallow end seems pretty brittle. I've got a few hoses in now to fill it. I've got one with warmer water in the shallow end. I guess all I can do now is wait.

Inground Vinyl Pool Lost Most of it's Water Over The Winter

Thanks Jason. That's my plan this weekend. Unfortunately we've had non stop rain for the past day. Hopefully it clears up by tomorrow so I can get the cover off. Sean

Inground Vinyl Pool Lost Most of it's Water Over The Winter

Looking for some advice here. I have a 26,000 gallon in ground vinyl liner pool. I'm located in NJ. I closed the pool in September and lowered the water just below the skimmers. I noticed in the last snow/ice storm we had a little while back that my solid cover was sagging way more than I've...

    Fiber Clear

This is my third season with FiberClear and I'm quite happy with it. My biggest reasons for switching were handling of DE and not having to worry about backwashing onto my lawn. It works at least as good as DE for me. I haven't changed anything else in my BBB routine. Sean

The Zodiac "Barracuda" MX8 Suction Side Cleaner

I ordered one today from PoolSupplySales.com for $389 plus the $100 rebate. Thanks for the tip rv4hess! :whoot: If it will get the junk off the bottom of the pool now that I have to use the manual vacuum for I will be thrilled. Sean

    Skimmer / Drain Question

I have a floating skimmer now that runs off one of the returns. It's been that way since I've had it for 5 years as the built in skimmer has not worked since I've had the pool. I'm still losing water, but not at the rate I was before they plugged the drain. Guess I'll just keep and eye on it...

    Skimmer / Drain Question

Hi All. Hope everyone is having a good summer....at least better than the northeast where it seems to rain every day! Anyway, I was having a problem with water leaking from my pool to the tune of 1" per day on bad days with no one swimming and very little sun. So I had the pool company that I...

Southern Butterfly Offset Umbrella From Lowes- any good?

We bought that one from Lowes about a month ago. Havn't taken it out of the box yet, so I can't give you an opinion yet. As soon as we get it assembled I'll let you know. We did look at a similar one at Target for about the same price, but this one looked sturdier. Sean

    First Time Fiber Clear Usage

It's been about a week since I put the Fiber Clear in my filter. The water seems fine so far. I don't see any adverse affects at this point. Hopefully it stays that way! Sean

    First Time Fiber Clear Usage

Wow. Sorry to hear you had to drain and re-fill. Hopfully this works. I wonder if the salt has an adverse affect with Fiber Clear? Hopfully someone else has experience with it. My pressue is good so far after 48 hours or so. Sean

    First Time Fiber Clear Usage

After deciding I didn't want to deal with used DE backwash anymore I thought I would try Fiber Clear. I thought I would share this in case anyone else is contemplating it. I gave my filter a good cleaning first. Since my skimmer is not functional, I have been adding DE for the past few years...

    Vinyl Liner Problem

I have to tell you, your advice was AWSOME!!!!!! :goodjob: My wife admitted that she was ready to give up before I attacked it last night. The pool is full, the pump filter and light are all up and running and there are no plumbing leaks to boot! This is probably the first year that...

    Vinyl Liner Problem

I've got about 18" to go to full. When I came out this morning I noticed there was about a 4" section of liner that had poped out. I got it back in with some hot water without too much difficulty. It looks like the force of the water is stetching the liner against the sides. Hopfully it has...

    Vinyl Liner Problem

Ok. That was NOT a fun job!!! I now understand the screwdriver tip, the top secret trick, the beadlock tip etc........ My liner is now attached all around with much cussin' and help from my better half. Where is was detached, there is a pocket of air between the liner and the wall. It...

    Vinyl Liner Problem

There may have been a leak around the steps. The previous owner had siliconed where the steps and liner attach and it had come out. I re-siliconed it since the level was down so far. I don't have high hopes at this point. I've tried stretching it but I've got a good 3-4 inches where it sags...

    Vinyl Liner Problem

I have a local pool company close it for me but they don't usually go down more than a foot or so below the normal water line. When I took the cover off, it was down to about 3-6 inches in the shallow end. I wasn't home when they closed it this time, so I'm not sure how far they took it. If I...

    Vinyl Liner Problem

Thanks for the reply. My guess is the liner is 8 to 10 years old. I've had it for 4 and I think the previous owner told me he had it put in 4 years before I bought the house. Would the repair call for draining water out of the shallow end prior to trying to get the liner back in place? I...

    Vinyl Liner Problem

Hi All. Hope everyone had a good winter! I took the cover off my IGP this weekend and saw that either I lost a substantial amount of water or the company that closed my pool took out way more than they usually do. I had 3-4 inches left in the 4' deep shallow end. I saw a couple of pretty big...
