    Getting fence to code

    I think gwegan is suggesting ripping a 2x4 at a 45 degree angle and mounting so that it can't be climbed: Like: | | |\ <------ ripped 2x4 | | | | | | | | | | |\ <------ ripped 2x4 | | |____________________________ Neighbor's yard____________

    Getting fence to code

How long is the fence? How high? How far between the hortizontals? If you block access to the hortizontals with some wire mesh, it will meet code. Basically, if a kid can't get a toe hold, it meets code if high enough. Picture?

Clever ways to hide pool equipment...

I used some leftover retaining wall block for a sound and sight wall. See the last post here: new-build-in-maryland-t54241-40.html Works well and matches up with some other retaining wall in the pool area. I will be adding grasses and a few boulders later this fall to blend it in. Good luck...

Sport type Pool or Traditional Deep End?????

We have only been in our pool for a month now and the deep end (9.5') gets a lot of action from all ages. We also didn't want a diving board, but did go with a diving rock which really has been popular. It is a nice addition to the landscape and only is an addition 12" off the water surface. The...

    New Build in Maryland

The 2-man post hole digger worked great. Rented from Rentals Unlimited for $50/day (pick it up after 4pm Saturday and return Monday before 9am counts as 1 day :-) ) - money well spent! 90% of the holes went quick, but when we hit the shale it would just spin. Had to break out the breaker bar for...

    New Build in Maryland

Hard to put it to an exact $/foot. Here's the breakdown. The fence is their "Boca Grande" style which has the double upper rails in Green color. I purchased 100' of fence, two arched 48" gates, one 8' arched double gate, one custom 60" panel, and 125 custom pickets/rails for the deck. All...

Fence is started... I mail ordered it from iFenceUSA and have to say their quality is excellent. The aluminum thickness is better than the stuff from our local big box store, for less money. The paint is great and delivery only took a couple of weeks...

So... my deck forms part of my barrier to the pool so I ended up making a custom rail to meet the BOCA code. I had the fence company send me 43" pickets that I mounted into my rail. I cut a dado into each rail and then made a couple hundred spacers to fill the gaps and ensure even spacing...
