PB disappeared ->Half an owner build

With our new build they did plaster/pebble at the very end after everything else was done including the decking. I believe that’s pretty typical based on other pictures I’ve seen of new builds. Good luck with everything!

New Build - Vinyl Pool - Final Planning Prep - Digging Stage

I thought it was 18" but to be honest now I'm not too sure. I'll have to measure it and find out.

New Build - Vinyl Pool - Final Planning Prep - Digging Stage

We have a smaller pool (12x24) because it was the largest we could do in our yard for many reasons. We did a full-length bench on one side (similar to option 2) and I'm glad we did. We don't have kids and when we have people over I find that often we all end up sitting on the bench. We also...

Jan 2025 IG pool build in Georgia, need liner re set!!!!

I can speak from experience. Prior to our dig they came out and marked everything with stakes and paint but it didn't look right to us. So we measured it when we got home and discovered it was 2 feet narrower and 2 feet shorter than our final design. It turns out they submitted the wrong...

Jan 2025 IG pool build in Georgia, need liner re set!!!!

This is our first year of pool ownership and we decided to try leaving it open to see how that goes. We put a leaf net over the pool in the late fall and I removed the net yesterday now that the majority of our leaves have fallen. We do have a huge tulip tree in the yard dropping thousands of...

    New build in Metro Atlanta

I was going to say exactly this. Get all of the model numbers so you know exactly what equipment you’re getting with no surprises. That was a lesson learned for me. The builders like to give generic equipment lists in the quotes so they can find the cheapest option that fits that description.

Jan 2025 IG pool build in Georgia, need liner re set!!!!

Yes, give them a call and tell them you may need to upgrade your meter. They will likely ask you how many gas appliances are in the home and whether you need either a 7” W.C. or 2 PSI meter. I opted for the 2PSI model so I filled out a form online and then they scheduled the replacement. The...

Jan 2025 IG pool build in Georgia, need liner re set!!!!

I went through the same thing with our build trying to figure out what size gas meter was needed. I got mixed messages from the builder and even the gas company. The gas company did confirm that even without our pool heater, we were already undersized due to our new tankless water heater...

New build in Atlanta, GA - Nov 24

I'm surprised they decided to do shotcrete with temps getting in the 20s overnight and for several days to come. Ours was done at the end of January this year and it wasn't nearly this cold but I had the builder cover the entire shell with plastic to trap the heat overnight which seemed to work...

New build in Atlanta, GA - Nov 24

Also, I have a very similar equipment list to what you're getting so I'll be curious to know how they configure the heater bypass. Our builder claims I was the first customer in his 20 years in the business who had asked for a heater bypass and they had some challenges getting it to work with...

New build in Atlanta, GA - Nov 24

That looks like a pretty solid list to me. I would also ask that they not use any of the cheap ball valves for any of the plumbing. I forgot to request that from our builder and we ended up with a mix of the nicer Jandy valves and the cheap ball valves. Go figure we had an issue with a Jandy...

New build in Atlanta, GA - Nov 24

Good luck with the new build! We are also in the Atlanta area and had concerns about needing helical piers but fortunately the builder said we were fine with the red clay they found after the dig. We had plenty of other challenges with permitting and easements which prevented us from doing a...

    Pentair IntelliCenter Freeze Protection

That’s what I’m finding as I read through the IntelliCenter manuals. I’m surprised they don’t go into more detail. I may turn off Freeze Protection for the cleaner after I do a little more research. Thanks for the links.

    Pentair IntelliCenter Freeze Protection

Hello, This winter will be our first as new pool owners. We are planning to keep the pool open year-around to see how that goes this first year. I looked at the configuration in my IntelliCenter settings today and confirmed Freeze Protection was enabled for the following circuits: Pool Water...

Suggestions and comments on design please

Our pool is very similar in size and design (minus the tanning ledge). We couldn't build any bigger due to similar limitations (impervious buffer from creek at the back, easement from stormwater pond, and easement from property line). We are very happy with the overall design given the size...

    Getting ready for Helene

Instead of picking up this pump I decided to instead focus on getting a generator to ensure we can maintain power so I ran out of time and didn’t pick it up. However, so far our overflow drain has worked great even with all this rain (still coming down now). I’ll probably get a pump later but...

    Getting ready for Helene

Yeah I realize this is pretty slow but there's not much to choose from as you can imagine! Maybe I'll pick this one up and leave it boxed so I can return it if we don't use it.

    Getting ready for Helene

Thanks for the link. This is exactly what I was looking for. We do have an overflow drain in our new pool (it appears to be at least a 2" pipe) but we've never been through a storm like this here in metro Atlanta. My wife thinks we should pickup a pump just in case. I've got one of these...

    IntelliCenter2 Migration to Pentair Home

I haven't had any issues with the Home app to be honest. Plus, I do like the new dashboard view which shows the IntelliChlor output % and the current salt level.

Starting the build process- looking at contractors / /Myrtle Beach area SC- Read the building steps But ? How to design ?

I concur with what @kimkats said above about make and model. Ask them for the Pentair model numbers for every single piece of equipment so you know exactly what you're getting. I'd suggest getting an IntelliFlo 3hp VSF pump instead of the 1hp they have quoted. That way you can run it at a...

Pebbletec installing now - chlorine question

We did Blue Granite on our new build this year and we really like the end result. We originally had wanted something a bit darker like Ocean Blue but the uncharge was nearly $5K which wasn't worth it for us.

IC-40 salt reading Not Matching TF-Pro test kit

Here is my final update on my struggles with this IC40. Pentair support sent the warranty claim over to a local pool company to have them come troubleshoot our issues. However, they said that if it was determined to not be defective, I would have to pay a trip charge of $180/hour so I refused...

    Slide Option disguised by grotto

I love the concept. My only concern with a depth of 5.5 ft is if someone were to jump off of the platform next to the waterfall. Perhaps you could extend the railing on the left of the stair or incorporate something in the design to discourage people from walking onto that platform. I'm not...

    Betta SE Plus

Unfortunately I don't have the option to raise the water level as it's currently close to its maximum due to the overflow drain. I can see why they are selling these pre-packaged now on Amazon with the foam noodle piece to place in the skimmer opening. That would probably solve the issue I'm...

    Betta SE Plus

When I got home yesterday I pushed it away from the skimmer and removed the frog saver just in case that was confusing it. An hour later it was stuck again so my wife got it unstuck. Overnight the pump turned off per our schedule and it was able to free itself for a while and then it managed...

    Betta SE Plus

I slightly lowered the pump speed from 1,600 to 1,500 RPM but we are now going on 7+ hours and it's stuck in the same place. I did email Betta and it turns out the extended warranty IS refundable which was surprising. Their customer service is very responsive to requests which is great. I'm...
