Clean and Clear Filter Top - Won't Seat

I'll answer my own question and give some info that might help another. 1. I just let the lid and gasket sit in the sun for a bit. Warned up nicely even on an overcast day. I wiped off a lot of the excess lube. Top slide on with no effort, issues, or leaks. 2. If you are wondering if the...

Clean and Clear Filter Top - Won't Seat

I just installed a new Pentair Clean and Clear 150 to replace my 100. I cannot, even with an assistant, get the top to seat on the housing. We can get it on about 3/4 but then it will slip off on another side. Lots of lube, even tried reusing the o ring from the previous filter. I would...

Pivot Solar Breeze Out Of Business

My 2nd Ariel is working but my Skimbot just died 1 well before a year. It sucks that they went out of business with no attempt to help those who supported them. Ariel has been priceless when it comes to keeping my pool leaf-free so I'll start looking for a different brand or a clearance Ariel.

Is this algae? I think yes!

Well, I didn't look on it exactly but you do the SLAM until OCLT test meets the 3 criteria but because of the algae you keep the chlorine high for an additional 24 hours.

Is this algae? I think yes!

Absolutely do have trees. The stains Absolutely do not brush off. I don't let leaves remain in the pool. I gave two solar skimmers that collect them.

Is this algae? I think yes!

So, these spots have been in my pool for about a month. Initially, i thought it was stain that had gotten into the pool. Then, last weekend I decided to do the Vitamin C test and nothing changed. Then, realizing my water was clear but not crystal I decided to do a SLAM with the addition of...

    Importance of a Clean Filter

Jim, my last full set of readings were: FC - 5.5 CC - 0 CYA - 35 CH - 525 TA -80 Plaster pool. 2 months old. The spots are only on the ledge and in a corner. They come and go. My pool is not covered with lots of trees and storms. Filter does get dirty fast. Thoughts

    Importance of a Clean Filter

Over the last 5 days, I have noticed algae spots on the sun ledge and in the corner of my swim lane. My water is crystal clear ad no other algae is visible in the pool. I was starting to think that circulation in the area was causing the problem due to no bubblers on the ledge. Today, I started...

The builder did not install the return or jet eyeballs because be wanted to make sure everything was out of the lines. He has now installed them and yes there is good flow.

    Help Understanding Valve Alignment

Thanks so much for all your help!! Yes, it's in spillover. After they installed the check valve I was still losing level when the pump shut off. Not as much but a few inches. I could also hear water moving through the skimmer/ floor drain valve. I thought maybe the valve was defective. I'm...

    Help Understanding Valve Alignment

I get nothing. No flow at all so once again what I believe to be true about the valves is not. My builder is going to have to come back and properly label the valves. Thanks for all your help!!

    Help Understanding Valve Alignment

Thanks for the information. I do not know the brand of SWCG. He simply says that he has one for me. This build was based on "a guy who knows a guy", which saved me a small fortune so I did not get to select many of the items that were used. Yes, he will definitely bring a pad for the heater. The...

That 4th valve seems to control the spa jets. The flow is quite weak and my builder says he will need to install a booster pump.

    Storage of Pool Items

My pool has been running for a week and I too am tired of having stuff everywhere. I purchased this deck box from Sam's - saw a Costco version at a friend's house but this one is larger and cheaper. Let us know you're not a robot - Sam's Club I plan to store cushions and pool equipment...

    Help Understanding Valve Alignment

I have two additional questions. I am absolutely having the builder add one check valve to stop the spa from draining when the pump is off. I also want him to add a drain port so that I can quickly lower the pool level during hurricane season, instead of draining via the filter. Based on the...

    Help Understanding Valve Alignment

You were correct, valving was very wrong. Yes, the Spa Drain was open. I took the information you all provided and went out there for about 15 minutes, cycled valves, and checked the pool/spa for the outcome. Now, I have the pool returns and the spa return putting water in, the overflow is...
