    Just filled pool and leaking

Everything I’ve read says 1/4” a day is normal for evaporation. No cover yet, and warm 90+ days lately. The builder is sloppy no doubt, but does have a leak specialist who is working with us. He’s been out several times a week, and has pressured tested everything except the Riverflow system...

    Just filled pool and leaking

We don't have a well, sorry if that was confusing. The sump pulls water from under the pool, that's all. They already plugged the valve, and that reduced or stopped the leak so they replaced with the new hydrostat. They are 99% sure the leak is fixed with that, but the sump was still running...

    Just filled pool and leaking

Yes, we have a hydrostatic valve. This was replaced with a heavier duty one as they believe it was the cause of the leak and it has fixed (or atleast improved) the leak. No wells around us. This sump is indeed set to refill our pool. It is hooked directly to our pool filter.

They say the sump is because we have a high water table combined with a deep pool. No water loss overnight with the sump off, so somehow it was draining water instead of refilling it.

    Just filled pool and leaking

They came out today and ran the sump line, put about 2 inches of water back in the pool. And now they've turned it off for tonight to see if we lose water. I'm really at a loss why it'd put water back in right now, but won't overnight.

    Just filled pool and leaking

Wanted to give an update on our leak. Contractor plugged the main drain and it seemed to help, so they replaced with a heavier duty valve and all seemed good. They also scheduled a sump line below the pool to run nightly for a couple hours All seemed great until the last couple days. During the...

8 PH (maybe more, it's more purple than even the scale) 0 Total Chlorine (my cheaper test kit did show 1ish ppm) 0 Free Chlorine 0 CYA 40 TA 220 Calcium As a reminder this is a new pool, plastered 6/7, filled 6/8. They added some startup chems, not sure exactly. I added 1 gallon of muratic on...

They came by and "re-set" the main drain. Not quite sure what that means, but I've refilled and running the bucket test again!

Just wanted to give an update, the PH did drop a bit and we swam all weekend. But PH is back up to 8+ again. My Taylor 2005 just came in and my first test was CYA. It might as well have been a 0 reading, but I do know they had added some when the pool opened so not sure what's going on now...

Just checked, and showing 1/4" loss already. In the bucket hasn't moved.

Thanks, I’ll give that a shot today. We do have some rain but I think that should be fine since the bucket and pool would fill at the same rate.

Thanks for checking! It’s down, but not as much as before. So maybe 1” per day now.

Okay thank you for the help. I’m gonna let it go overnight and hope the PH settles by morning. And updated my sig with what I know so far, so much to learn!

Yah, it's 31.45%. About 3 hours ago I added half a gallon. Didn't budge, so about 30 minutes ago I added the rest of the gallon. My builder texted me and said high ph was fine to swim, but to add a gallon of muratic acid to help. So I've pretty much done that at this point.

Yah, pump is running but only 1 skimmer is working so just slow going. Test kit is a Pentair 2-way that came with the equipment, getting a better one tommorow.

Got a real test kit and ph is over 8.4. Added half a gallon of muratic acid. Should I see results overnight?

It’s bright pink on my hottub strip, so bright it’s not even on the scale. I have a real test kit arriving Monday.

They found a light that had not been installed completely and think that’s where the water was going. They put a plug in for now and said to watch it overnight. Fingers crossed!

Pool company just started up our pool for the first time! They added some chemicals and did a quick scrub, and said we’d be good to swim in an hour. Now an hour later and the water looks fairly cloudy. I tested with some hottub strips I have and chlorine and alkaline and good, but Ph is off...

    Just filled pool and leaking

Well we just filled our pool yesterday, and we're losing about 2" of water per day. They are coming in about an hour to turn it on, but I'm already trying to troubleshoot. One area I'm immediatley concerened about is the skimmer. Attached are pictures. The access is on so tight I can't even...
