Pool got hot and my readings are all over, could use a quick hand

Thank you. Got new chemicals today and fresh chlorine yesterday and all is well. I actually think it was the chlorine that was not good. I also think my salt cell is probably not doing its job. It’s 6 years old and I don’t know how long they last but I have a feeling it’s not adding enough...

Pool got hot and my readings are all over, could use a quick hand

Interesting. This chlorine was about 2 months old but had been in my hot garage. I bought another 4 gallons yesterday and will store in my lower much cooler basement garage going forward. Is there a way to check to my salt cell? It seems odd that on boost it’s not even adding any chlorine it...

Pool got hot and my readings are all over, could use a quick hand

So I ordered new chemicals and they will be here Wednesday. In the meantime my current chemicals are not expired so I did another test just now after adding a combined 3 gallons of bleach in a 14,000 gallon pool since Saturday, and my FC is still only .5ppm. I’ve been running my swg on boost/24...

Pool got hot and my readings are all over, could use a quick hand

I ordered replacement chemicals that will be here Wednesday so I’ll do some tests with fresh stuff, but I definitely know the chlorine was low, I couldn’t smell any of it putting my nose in the tubes. Normally I can smell it when it’s that close.

Pool got hot and my readings are all over, could use a quick hand

Hi all- I’ve been doing the TFP guidelines for two seasons and it’s been amazing. I have had zero issues since following but something has creeped up on me and I want to verify a couple quick things. I’ve been maintaining my salt water pool at 4-6 ppm FC, 0 CC, 45-50 cya, 250 calcium, 70 TA...

    Small calcium flakes?

Question for you guys. I have what looks like calcium flakes. Here is my water test. FC- 6 no combined chlorine PH- 7.8 Cya-50ish CH-330 TA-130 I’ve been fighting high TA and adding muriatic acid every day or so. I’ve read this could be flakes from the swg? What else should I be looking...

First time with test kit, could use some feedback

I thought about this. I’ll test it. I’m on a well and the water runs through a treatment system.

First time with test kit, could use some feedback

Great, just ordered it and it will be here tomorrow. That will certainly make things easier and probably even more accurate.

First time with test kit, could use some feedback

Hi everyone- for the first month of the season I’ve been “pool stored” and couldn’t get my pool clean. Bought a 2006c-salt test kit, and a bunch of liquid chlorine and muriatic acid. Right now after chlorine and acid my pool is absolutely crystal clear. Here are the results from my testing...

Pool chemistry seems right, I just can’t get the haze out. Please help.

This is such a helpful amount of information. I will not be putting anything else in the pool. Fingers crossed the haziness can clear on its on. One question, based on my pool size, if I am understanding the bleach calculator, if I put one gallon of 12.5% bleach in, I would raise the FC by about...

Yep, I’ve been checking twice, as soon as it gets 5 psi above normal I backwash it.

Pool chemistry seems right, I just can’t get the haze out. Please help.

I wish I would have found this before I wasted a grand and made my water cloudy. It was perfectly clear except for the million worms at the bottom. I’ll do an OCLT once I get my kit, and let my pump run non stop in an effort to clear my water. Otherwise I’ll drain half way and refill twice...

Pool chemistry seems right, I just can’t get the haze out. Please help.

Perfect, thanks again for the quick article explanation too. I told my wife last week I was so over the pool I was filling it in with dirt but I feel I have some direction here now. In your experience, If the cloudiness is just due to adding all these chemicals, especially the gobs of...

Pool chemistry seems right, I just can’t get the haze out. Please help.

Yea I can see the bottom, just hazy. In a mason jar water looks beautiful. Thanks for sharing those articles, I read them and understand. Glad I found the group. One person above suggested a possible algae issue. To rule that out, what should I do? Should I Slam the pool even though I have...

Pool chemistry seems right, I just can’t get the haze out. Please help.

Crud I am thinking the same thing now. Any way to reverse this other than draining? Is the pool safe for the kids to swim while the cloudiness is there?

Pool chemistry seems right, I just can’t get the haze out. Please help.

Sorry my app seems to be glitching. I added 45lbs of shock, low n slo to balance PH, 6 oz weekly of pool juice, 3lbs of stabilizer, then 50oz of pool complete 911, then I changed the 300lbs of sand in the filter, then 4 cups of Sparkle up. All in this order, each at the recommendations of the...

Pool chemistry seems right, I just can’t get the haze out. Please help.

Sure. I started the season with a scale remover in an attempt to try and fix my fiberglass pool scaling issue. Looks terrible and it’s only 5 years old now. After reading on the forum seems pretty common on fiberglass and I might have to just give that fight up and focus on proper balance going...

Pool chemistry seems right, I just can’t get the haze out. Please help.

Thanks for the kit recommendations. I just order the 2006c kit. So if I am understanding everything correctly, with a cya of 80, I want to get my FC to 31 using the calculator on this site? What liquid chlorine should I use? Does it matter? I saw a calculator to figure out how much to use on...

Pool chemistry seems right, I just can’t get the haze out. Please help.

I have been taking my water in for testing so yes I am not using a at home test kit. I had a chlorine demand test performed as well and followed those directions. At season open I had a high imbalance between FC and Combined so we shocked it until those numbers equaled and FC and Combined have...

Hi everyone, new member, first time posting. I am struggling to get my water crystal clear. Pool is 5 years old, fiberglass. I replaced the sand in the filter this week as my final attempt at something. -PH is 7.6 (a little too high still but ok) -Cya- 80 -Chlorine is 15 and combined is...
