how to keep swimming bugs out?

That is almost scary the amounts you are getting. Where do they come from? I have not seen any of those in our pool before and hope we don't. I know the wife and kids would be out until its fixed. ps.. I recommend you go a head and at least get started with the bleach. Once you get the test...

Getting a pool, need advice on optional accessories

The number one first thing to get is a good test kit. It will save you a ton of headache if you need help with water problems. Best investment I have made next to finding this site.

    Poking up through liner

I would agree with Jeff405. If it were me, I would drain it and make it right. Otherwise, mother nature will drain it herself in a matter of time and you will be having to patch or purchase a new liner. I don't think the warranty will cover that type of damage. It's Just not worth the risk...

    Intex SWG Chlorine output

I would have to go back and look, but I run my Intex generator for 10 hours during the evening hours and it seems to hold pretty steady for me. I have my timer set to run my pump around 12 hours and that gives the swg plenty of time to run its 10 hour cycle. So far, that has worked great...

Anyone using a pool pump timer?

I recently picked up a timer for my pump. I have the salt water generator plugged into its own outlet with power 24/7. I then have the pump on the timer which kicks on for 10 hours during the afternoon and evening. Here is what we got from amazon...

Trying to help a friend open their pool

17,000 gallon IG vinyl FC = 0 CC = 0( from 0 FC I guess? After testing FC, adding the 5 drops of R-0003, it did not change the color) PH = 8.2 TA = 130 CYA = 20 Pool has green tint, can't see bottom. First steps? Slam process to get FC up and try to clear up the green tint? or do we address...

    What am I forgetting?

One big item, that is free that I didn't notice listed in the other replies is patience. If things start to get out of whack, you will find all the info and help here on the forums. When you start working to correct those out of whack problems, you will need to have patience. Other then what...

BOOO - Time to close up the pool!

Almost time for us to close up as well here in Southern Indiana. Even with the solar cover on, pool temp is barely holding at 70. With our upper 40's and low 50's at night, won't be much longer before water temp hits 60. How does your winter cover fit between the deck and the pool? Do you...

    wall popped out of track

Seen that happen to a friend on a 24ft pool last summer. I stopped by to help and found the ground was not level on that side of the pool that was jumping out of the track. Sometimes just using the eyeball to level doesn't work 100%. I would for sure check to make sure the ground is level in...

Spa wall coping job well done? Your opinion please - pics

Re: Spa wall coping job well done? Your opinion please - pic I think what UnderWaterVanya means is that they should probably replace the tile and make it right. Do you happen to have any pics of the tile before they started?

    Pool water too hot!

I am with everyone else with the cover off. I wish that was a problem here in Southern Indiana. Weather has been so bad, water is down to 75. We need the rain and cool weather to go away and bring back some sunshine.

    Topping off the pool

Simple enough answer, I know we have some metals in the well. That was the issue we had to fight with when filling the intex pool. I will run a hose to the basement. Pool is looking good and I don't want to do anything that can change that. Thanks!
