Did you do it? Any pics? August has been a hot one and we've been enjoying the pool quite a bit. Haven't done much in the way of landscaping again because it rained all May and June. We're having the local electric company come out and trench and bury lines that currently run...

Well I tried and I'm getting error message about exceeding my quota? Let's see if URL link works.
Hardest part of this project? When it started raining and getting that heavy ditch witch back up the slippery slope and out of the hole.
To give you an idea of how big the hole was...
I've used Fix-A-Leak two years in a row and it's worked great. First time the leak was on the suctions side and one in the pool wall (Intex). It worked for over a year. We have a new leak somewhere now end of next season and put it in again. I think it's working again and I just can't find how...
I have this problem sometimes. I make sure the vacuum is attached securely to the wall skimmer. If that's fine I often toggle the lever on the sand filter in case the filter stopped running as strongly. If that doesn't work I backwash and that usually does it for sure. If I think of more things...
Close up of the pool deck after I cleaned out the clay.
This year we finally got our pool up before June. We never got it up before even July prior years. But haven't been able to swim much due to thunderstorms almost daily in the evening. Next projects are to landscape yard and build deck...
I've had clay soil in pool over a week now and can't tell that the filter is able to pull it out. I thought I heard adding Diatomaceous Earth would help? Is this true?
We installed a Hayward Wide Mouth Skimmer into our Intex Ultraframe 12'x24'x54" today and just did it exactly like the instructions said. It was a b#@$!#$ to get on but I like that the gasket/grommet whatever was left intact and is on both sides of the pool and joined. We installed with it first...
If you want a Intex skimmer we just installed a Hayward through the wall skimmer and I could send you our old one. Otherwise I'll probably sell it on e-bay or something.

Oh boy I'm sorry we ended up getting stalled. My parents live across the street and my mom was ill first then my dad passed away Sept. 9th just eight days before his 98th birthday. So we have just started up again. The pool was so neglected at the end of the year that I didn't even winterize it...
We have ultraframe 12x24' Intex that we used AG first year, dug big hole and put in last year and this year attempting to fill back around the retaining wall we built around it and install deck around it. I'll have to start working on a post about the whole process or link to a BLOG or something.
We haven't finished. BUT we originally planned to at most put the pool 2 feet down. Then my husband decides that's not far enough. Because the walls are different than other pools we dug a bigger hole and we're putting retaining wall in to hold the dirt about 18"-24" from the edge of the pool...
I am all for the separate board because yes I had to search forever for "Intex applicable" information.

And has anyone else put an Intex pool in the ground? We are trying to do that with our 12x24 ultraframe. Big question now is...
Re: Anyone want to show me a pic of their sand filter set up
This won't help you but perhaps you can help me. Any idea if this has to be kept below the level of the outlets or water level and you mentioned your's was above the outlet level. And can we lengthen the hose length? Sorry to bother...
We put our intex 12x24 Ultraframe in a big hole with the ground held back by retaining walls about 2 feet from edge of pool. But that leaves so little room to manuever around and adjust the filter and SWCG. So we'd like to move the equipment away and up. Since this is above ground equipment...
Please repost a link to your pictures it no longer works. I know not your fault, I had mac account as well and haven't figured out where my gallery goes in the cloud.

Also is your pool the Ultra Frame type where it's the metal brackets holding up this liner and that's it or do you have a pool with framed sides. I'm confused, metal sides would rust, well so would metal brackets right? And this pool bulges out at bottom.....
:goodjob:
We bought the 12 x 24 beginning of summer intending to throw it up and get a nicer pool next year. Then a friend with a front loader said he could help us grade back yard (didn't realize how unlevel it was) and dig in a hole if need be. Now we're thinking about putting it half way in...
