    POSSIBLE LEAK IN WINTERIZED POOL

Got my above ground pool winterized and covered about a month ago. I have always put a plug in the return jet and put a skimmer door/cover on so I can fill the pool to the top. I have found this makes putting the cover on easier and eliminates the sag in the cover. Have done this for years...

    Cloudy Water after Swimming

He was just trying to maintain it not SLAM. But is what you are saying is that it is most likely dead algae and that he should perform a SLAM? If so, when you SLAM and you vacuum daily, do you have to vacuum to waste?

    Cloudy Water after Swimming

My brother-in-law is getting his pool cleared up using liquid chlorine (10%), has a 30 ft round vinyl liner above ground pool. His test last night was the following: FC=5.0, CC=0.0, pH=7.5, TA=80, CH=250, CYA=50 The pool math told him the last two nights to add Calcium Chloride, which he did...

Should I fill the floater with pucks, as many as it will hold?

Maintaining pool while out of town

I will be out of town for 10 days this July (live in Oklahoma, so full sun and alot of heat). I have not been using any trichlor tablets, just liquid chlorine and everything is fine. What should I do before I leave? I have someone coming over to clean skimmer basket but it is a young kid and...

    No power

Been without power for 36 hours and most likely for another 3 days, what can I do to keep pool going? Can I still add chemicals even though pump won’t be running?

    Help (already)

Last night added chlorine to bring up to 9, checked this morning and it was 7.5, added to bring up to 9. I tried to vacuum to waste this afternoon but it just shot the stuff back in pool so I had to vacuum to waste. Had to shut off pump until got enough water added back in. Checked and level...

    Help (already)

I am not using any pucks, only liquid chlorine. Should I forget the OCLT and just start the SLAM? Also for the SLAM it says to vacuum everyday, vacuum to waste? I hope not because it gets rid of a lot of water. If I have to maintain the FC to my CYA then I’m guessing I would have to check CYA...

    Help (already)

So I’m already frustrated because seems algae has already started and the summer has just started. Seems like I am spending a lot on liquid chlorine. Pool is cloudy and green tint. I added about 3 inches of water 2 days ago and my CYA is increasing. It is 80, FC is 2.5, PH is ~7.6, 27k...

Just Opened pool and first time user (what test to perform and in what order)

Thanks so much! I feel better and more confident. One more quick question and I will leave you alone. For the daily chlorine test, do I do the FAS/DPD test or just the quick test with plastic block and compare the yellowness?

Just Opened pool and first time user (what test to perform and in what order)

I added liquid chlorine per the pool math when I got home, waited until 9pm, tested water, FC=7, CC=0. Early this morning tested again and FC=7, CC=0. So no algae, correct? Is there anything else I need to do? Should I be concerned with no "CC"? If I am fine at this point how often should I...

CH=375, TA=60, CYA=60, FC=3, CC=0 What you think? Water is clear and pool "looks" good overall.

Added Chlorine the other night, this is the test from last night. I am thinking that I do not need to add anything. Is that correct? Should I be checking anything else? And how often?
