    Air in my system

Well at the time of the video, there was no air in the pump basket, but later that night I found the pool sweep (not on) but flouting on the surface and blowing air. The pump basket was full of air. So something happened during the evening that let all that air into the system. Water levels in...

    Air in my system

I have a 2 year old Hayward sand filter (500lbs) and valve. The valve sounds like it has air trapped inside but my filter sounds like a washing machine. No visible leaks anywhere. Please listen to the video. I tried opening the bleeder valve but only water comes out, no air. Please help

Taking the Polaris P39 out of the water

Well its not the temperature as much as the drying out of something that is constantly wet. The high temperature, drying it out completely the rubber wheels, gaskets, and plastic.

Taking the Polaris P39 out of the water

My Polaris P39 lives in the pool 24/7. So its 106 degrees today and some people are coming over to swim. I disconnected it and took it out of the pool and put it in the shade. But it's still 106 out there and will be completely dried out by the time I put it back in. Does this damage the Pool...

    Sand filter pressure issue

So I installed a new Hayward S310 and Multi-port valve this week. My pool was full of dirt from not having a filter for a month. I've got most of it cleared out. My starting pressure is 20psi and will rise to 30psi within an hour or so. But if I shut it off and back on again, the pressure goes...

    Rattling pipes

I had considered that but being that the pipe is 27" high, I don't think I would get much lateral support from that. It shakes in all directions.

    Rattling pipes

After I installed my new sand filter and installed an all new pipe system, I feel I must have done something wrong because if you watch the video, you’ll see the scary movements of my pipes when I turn on the pump. Is it the height, the long distance, the elbow configuration? I think it’s going...

Plumbing for my new sand filter

UPDATE So I had to improvise a few things from my original plumming design. Everything is connected but I ran out of daylight so I'll start it up in the morning. Feed back is always welcome. If you see something I did wrong, please tell me LOL.

    Hayward sand filter issue

Unboxing my side mount 30” Hayward sand filter today and I noticed something odd. The laterals manifold is angled (see pic) One side of the laterals are almost touching the tank. Is this a problem? If it is, how do I fix it?

Plumbing for my new sand filter

I'm confused, I'm I supposed to use a threaded male union straight into the valve? I just watched an install video where they said to use a threaded union and NOT to use a threaded male adapter. Is this true and if it is, where do I find them? If I use a threaded adapter with thread sealant, is...

Plumbing for my new sand filter

Plumbing in the concrete has been like that for 40 yrs. Leaving that alone. I'l only replacing the PVC to copper adapter so its all good. Where would i put unions? 2 questions. 1- The treaded adapters at the pump and valve, are they standard threads? 2- Is the distance between pump and filter a...

Plumbing for my new sand filter

I'm replacing my old DE filter with a new sand filter and I have to redo everything because the new one is to big to fit on the pad. I'm a 3D artist so I decided to throw this image together to help me figure it out. The 3D model is measured accurately. In the corner you can see what i'm...
