Borates in my Pool Too High

Last summer I added boric acid to my pool. I added a little too much so the Borates were between 60-70 ppm. I tested with Borate test strips I ordered from tftestkits. Anyway now according to those test strips the Borates are 100 ppm. I haven’t added anymore borates and can’t figure out why the...

Quartz Plaster has Tiny Black specs/dots - is it black algae

The tiny black spots circled in red. I’m probably being paranoid but I’ve heard such terrible things about black algae and it seems like there are more and more of them as time goes by. I don’t remember seeing all these black dots right after the quartz plaster was finished.

Quartz Plaster has Tiny Black specs/dots - is it black algae

Quartz ivory plaster 6 months old. I see these tiny black specs/dots on my pool plaster. Seems like more keep showing up or I’m just paranoid. i’m thinking it’s just some dark pebbles in the quartz aggregate but would like your opinion. They don’t come off with brushing and I’ve put a chlorine...

    Glacier Pool Cooler - Help

A guy from The Pool Depot came out to look at our Cooler today because of the aforementioned problem. The Pool Depot is a Glacier warranty center in Houston. The guy turned my cooler on and watched it for 15 minutes and declared everything was fine. He didn’t even examine the pump, pump float or...

    Glacier Pool Cooler - Help

My cooler has overflowed twice now. Flooding our yard and draining our pool. Each time this has happened I find the pump float up but the pump switch is not engaged so the pump wasn’t running.

    Glacier Pool Cooler - Help

Jeff mine looks just like yours. Water pouring down through the middle. Here’s the thing though, at least in my opinion, if all the water just flowed through the wands then they would spin faster and spray water everywhere so you would need to decrease the water flow Into the cooler and one of...

    Glacier Pool Cooler - Help

My cooler has a lot of water that comes out of the middle shaft where the wands attach also. I wasn’t sure if the water is supposed to do that. I tried tightening that white plastic nut in the middle under the white plastic thing all the wands attach to but doesn’t help. Would like to hear from...

    Glacier Pool Cooler - Help

Jeff thanks for the info. The part about setting the skimmer/floor return to 45 degrees is a good one…. Had not thought of that. Makes sense to try and pull more water from cooler to mix with the other water returning from skimmer/floor.

    Glacier Pool Cooler - Help

My wands look like they have streams of water coming out - not spray. Of course I’m seeing this with the fan off. Does turning the fan on cause the water to become a spray/mist?
