Does adding (and maintaining) Metal Out impact the chlorine levels ?

Would you be able to help me understand if my "solid" chlorine has the other stuff in it? I use CHLOR BRITE which says 99% "sodium dichloro-s-triazinetrione dihydrate" and 1% other. So does that mean it also has the other non-chlorine stuff?

I added 2 gallons of liquid chlorine yesterday afternoon ... took a measurement this morning and got a FC reading of 2. So that's a good sign ... right? Can I add use chlorine granules? ... I don't have anymore liquid chlorine.

My PH went from 7.2 to 7.0 in about a three week period of time ... we had a lot of rain during that time and I probably drained about 3" of water off the pool. I haven't had to fill my pool in years ... I rely totally on rain water. I drain down about a foot of water each Fall when I close...

I thought the same thing so I bought new reagent ... unfortunately it tested the same :( And, no, I have not added anything to the water.

--7 years old. --Yes (HeatPump). --There is coping around the edge. --OK. sounds like a good plan. --3400 is the recommended level ... I worry about so much salt around the cement so I tended to keep it low. Am I wrong with my assumption?

eek! :shock: it's been low for a month. Keeps getting lower and lower.

Yes, I do have a SWCG. When you say "slightly negative" ... do my SI numbers qualify as "slightly negative"?

I test with my kit every Saturday ... in between those tests I will test with strips (but I don't record those).

So it's safe to say that I don't need to pay any attention to the SI? Just keep plugging along keeping my numbers within range?

Between the two readings I had shocked the pool so the 2.4 is coming down from a decent shock (12+) ... I will raise it today back up. Thanks :)
