oh got it, thanks. The pool surface is pebbletec. Would your suggestion be the same (chip off the epoxy with possibly some pebbletec)? I have a pebble patch kit.

Chip off the epoxy with some plaster? Can you elaborate what “with some plaster” entails?

Elevated spa connected to pool leak

Here's a wider angle photo of what we're looking at. If you're looking out from the spa and towards the pool, it's the left side of this photo. You'll see white and gray pool epoxy putty along the line where the tile meets the pebbletech.

Its pool epoxy putty applied over the grout where tile meets pebble tech. I’ll try to get a better photo.

Elevated spa connected to pool leak

Hi TFP, I have a leak in my spa that’s connected to my pool. Previous owner used epoxy to patch but it’s now leaking. I used food coloring to see that the food coloring is going thru the patch. In the attached picture, you’ll see the gray and white epoxy patch. What’s the best way to DIY fix...

How can I fix this potential leak at the overflow pipe at the tile line?

What about something like this? “Commercial 100% Silicone Caulk is designed for use in coves, corners, changes in plane and expansion joints associated with exterior and interior applications of tile and stone. This caulk can be used in pools and other wet area applications.”...

How can I fix this potential leak at the overflow pipe at the tile line?

yea, I think the grout line below the tile is also missing grout. What do you think about using Sikaflex to fill it in?

How can I fix this potential leak at the overflow pipe at the tile line?

12 hours after the last post. The water is around the same level. I removed the plug and this is how it looks like. I’m fairly certain there are gaps around this threaded pipe that’s letting water out. What do you think? How should I seal it?

How can I fix this potential leak at the overflow pipe at the tile line?

Thank you, trying again with the photos. This is the past 24 hours. I think it stops here right under the plug. But I’ll have to wait another day to make sure that’s still true.

How can I fix this potential leak at the overflow pipe at the tile line?

That's right. The plug is inserted and the pool still loses water below the level of the pipe. You can also see that above the plug, the mortar is seperating from the tile. Trying the picture again but larger:

How can I fix this potential leak at the overflow pipe at the tile line?

How can I fix this potential leak at the overflow pipe at the tile line? I've noticed that after a heavy rain, the water recedes below this overflow pipe (see black plug) at the tile line. I suspect there is a leak. I also notice the pool coping lifting at this area. Should I fix this myself...

How important is the rubber washer for the retaining screw of the impeller for a Pentair Intelliflo 4 160?

To close out this thread: I did replace the cracked seal plate per the recommendation above by @1poolman1 . When I replaced it, the crack was a little bit more noticeable than before so good thing I did. The 3 air bubbles that are visible at the pump lid are much smaller now but still there.

How important is the rubber washer for the retaining screw of the impeller for a Pentair Intelliflo 4 160?

Agreed. At this point, I’m more willing to do a replacement knowing it will work. does anyone sell a kit with the seal plate and impeller together with the shaft seals already in?

How important is the rubber washer for the retaining screw of the impeller for a Pentair Intelliflo 4 160?

I'm happy to share that my Pentair Intelliflo 4x160 is working again with no leaks (for the 2nd day now). Thank you @1poolman1 for the advice on using sealant on the impeller retainer screw washer. I didn't plan on using silicone sealant but ended up using it. Still not 100% certain that it...

How important is the rubber washer for the retaining screw of the impeller for a Pentair Intelliflo 4 160?

Got it, thank you. I used sealant on the seal plate side of the shaft seal. But just soapy water on the impeller side. I’m planning on sticking with Magic Lube II on the impeller screw gasket. Let me know if anyone feels strongly that I should use sealant instead to resolve my leak issue. I...

How important is the rubber washer for the retaining screw of the impeller for a Pentair Intelliflo 4 160?

Got it. Thank you @1poolman1 1) the shaft seal was just replaced. I ran the pump for at most 2 hours in aggregate since it was replaced. But I reopened it because the pump was running well but still leaking. Hoping the leak was due to the impeller screw gasket. Fingers crossed. 2) I do have...
