Want to clarify what im being told is correct for pool resurfacing

To OP, the pictures of damage you posted is that chunks of fiberglass or chunks of plaster coming off the walls? Generally speaking, how can one determine if a plaster pool is failing and needs to be resurfaced?

I have been slamming for 4 or 5 days now and only today is my water crystal clear. And I mean crystal clear, it's clearer than bottled water.

    Water clarity-I am Baffled

I haven't read the entire thread so this may have been addressed, but clarifier made my pool super cloudy and let me tell you how big a pain it is to get rid of. It's a huge one! The easy way to tell get a jar of water from pool and look closely with a very bright light. If it's clarifier you...

Cannot maintain FC at recommended levels

So nobody has any opinions on the big stains in the pool? I think I've ruled out it being black algae. The homeowner is really getting on my bad side, he does not want to Invest In a swg and refuses to test the water or add chemicals in any kind of useful educated fashion. It's starting to...

    Algae won’t go away

I do not know how knowledgeable you are so take no offense but be wary about the liquid chlorine you buy, make sure it's fresh. I sent my friend to pick up several cases for a slam and he picked up 4 at a local hardware store (in fairness I sent him there not having checked them myself first)...

    Purple/Dark Spot/Stain

Just a quick rant regarding a particular popular pool supply store. Today I was at said pool store and was waiting in line and, to my horror, watched an employee field a customer question "I have algae in my pool how do I get rid of it?" The employee asks some basic questions and the owner...

Cannot maintain FC at recommended levels

So small update here, I have purchased a tf100 kit which is due to arrive any day. After I made this thread my filter housing sprung a leak and I instantly came to know about bulkhead fittings (never heard of before.) The cartridge filter we have is a c4000 from Hayward, It took some detective...

Cannot maintain FC at recommended levels

Hello all, I have taken over care of a 25k in ground plaster pool with in ground spa. Somewhat recently (before I took over) there was significant algae bloom and when I say significant, you could put your hand in the water and it would disappear. Using the advice gleaned from reading this...
