Which side is up for the top tube sheet on a Hayward EC 65

Hayward EC 65 Filter pumping DE back into pool
I just replaced some torn fingers on my Hayward EC Pool Filter and now it is pumping the DE directly back into the pool. Is there a specific way the two plates have to mate up? I have the gasket between the two plates? Inground Pool with Hayward 3/4 HP Pump, Approx. 21000 gallons, Hayward...- Pikesm
