    Pump leaking at connection

    Hayward superpump is leaking at the connection fitting a the top of the pump inlet (return). Purchased a new connection piece - should I use pipe dope and teflon on the threads? Thanks

    Thanks Jason. Correct, CYA and PH are a result of just opening pool and shocking. Typically CYA is at 70 and PH between 7.5 & 7.8 Appreciate the help and love the forum

    Thanks Jason Test Results CL - Finishing shocking process - just opened the pool PH - 7.4 TA - 70 CH - 130 CYA - 40 Through the summer TA was about 100, PH would rise to 7.8 - 8.0 every 7 to 10 days.

    Currently shocking the pool and failed the OCLT test by .5 twice. Scrubbing around the LED light niche a large amount of black came off. Is this a sign the algae is behind the light niche? If yes do I need to drain the water level below the light fixture in order to remove the light? Thanks...
