Hi all, I am a constant battle with my pH and TA :) I am using Leisure Time Spa Down and not MA. I understand I should be testing before I aerate as they naturally increase pH. The problem is, I need to run the pumps to mix the dry acid. How long do I wait before retesting each time? Thanks!

Ended up being the heating element which got toasted with the loss of water.. $220 replaced.. not bad.. just irritating it was self inflicted

fuses tested good with multimeter.. at a loss.. waiting on service guy to show. Will keep you all updated.

Yeah.. breaker is good. Going to try to replace the two larger fusetron fuses.. the smaller clear ones look fine. If that does not work will have to place a service call :(

Ok thanks.. I did see the pH drop to 7.5 after adding some MA.. I will continue with the MA until I get the TA under 80. Will also get some CYA in there :)

So I picked up some MA and added 1/3 cup to start.. also, I have added 7 capfuls of the Leisure Spa Down and the pH doesnt seem to have come down at all.. odd.

Ok quick follow-up.. my tub is 400gal and Pool Math says to bring my FC from 0 to 5 I need to add a little over 4oz or half a cup. However, It takes me a full cup just to get to .5ppm. Any idea why that would be? I am just using chlorine method.

Just want to make sure I am doing this right. I added 10ml of spa water to the larger cylinder with two scoops of the 870 powder. I counted out 20 drops of the 871 reagent before the water turned clear from pink. This means my FC is 10ppm correct?

Perfect, thanks much! I think once the MPS is gone I will switch to bleach as an oxidizer every couple days while still using the bromine floater. I just wasn't sure if it was ok to use bromine and oxidizer together since the water turned brown which sounds like isn't an issue.

Thanks.. I don't believe the tub has an ozonater. The water clears after about an hour or two so I guess I will not worry about the temp color change. I would assume I should have a good reserve at this point though given the 6oz of bromide I have added.. yet I am still reading only 1.5ppm even...

Sorry for the delay. I added a large cap full of oxidizer which appears to be MPS. Specifically, potassium peroxymonosulfate by Natures Choice. Spa is 400g. Maybe I am adding too much which is temp causing brown water. But bottle says 2oz per 500g and from what I have read that's about a capful...
