Correction, I replaced the cell last June. I've replaced so much Pentair equipment since our pool was built in September 2007 I can't keep it all straight. Pentair has agreed to replace the cell out of warranty!

No advice, except that once you figure out how to do it, be sure to plumb in a dedicated drain line and valve for the future. Good luck and let us know how you solved the problem!

Update: I don't know how long the new finish will last - hopefully for a couple of years - but it looks like new. Also good to know the original paint should provide a lasting base for future repaints.
