    End of Season?

I'm one of those that close a week or 2 after Labor Day. My thoughts have always been why continue to keep it open and deal with the expense of it all if no one is using it. Closing when I do also gives me a jump on everything in preparation for the upcoming winter. In almost 20 years of having...

TFP Expert Discussion - Winterizing Your Pool

Please excuse the delay, I wasn't aware that you posted a reply. I'll have to see if email notification is an option here. Since the new liner was installed, I make sure the PH is at least 7.8 and the TA about 80 when closing. TA always remains around 80, so never had the need to adjust it. PH...

New liner is ordered. Since the liner pattern I currently have is no longer made, I was allowed to pick a new pattern. The one we chose was 27ml floor and 20ml wall. No way do I want 20ml...bet its like saran wrap after a full day on sunlight.:p To get both floor and wall 27ml for that...

TFP Expert Discussion - Winterizing Your Pool

Looking forward to this discussion for sure! I'm going to try and attend the zoom, but most likely end up watching the recorded session instead. While I've been closing my pool myself since day one-almost 20 years ago, I'm very much interested in seeing if there is something I've overlooked. One...

Yea, TFP....I just pulled the cover.

Really? My thoughts were to use a valve and only open it when needed. If the pipe is pitched correctly, it would drain completely and not freeze. Unless there's a major storm coming through, I rarely have to drain during the summer...only winter. Now that I think about it more, what you say...

I was not aware you could get one with out the border. For sure I would absolutely go borderless!! Thanks so much for the suggestion(y)(y)(y) Since I get a choice of patterns, I'll inquire about it. Thanks again for that excellent suggestion:cheers:...you must have esp and read my mind:p

Yea, TFP....I just pulled the cover.

I drain down to about 18" as well, as that's the max that the manufacturer for the cover states. But depending on the winter precip, I may have to drain it down several times. This past winter I had to do it 3 times. But I don't really measure after the first time for winter prep. I just go by...

Yea, TFP....I just pulled the cover.

Cool...you're hired;) Unless we have one of those La Niña winters here, I'll pass on brushing the pool when it's cold out. Bad enough I have to drain it down a few times to prevent overflowing. :p

Yea, TFP....I just pulled the cover.

True, but unless I remove the whole cover, it would only get mixed in that corner or corners...would it not?

    Print peeling above water line

Update for those who were following: I was tempted to post a couple times about what the manufacturer was offering, but didn't want to jinx myself. Initially they offered to pro rate the liner with a cost to me of almost $1K. My reaction was WHAT??? I don't know the actual cost for certain, but...

Yea, TFP....I just pulled the cover.

Thanks for the reply even though I'm a bit late in seeing it. I can do the same with my cover, but my concern would be the chlorine would be concentrated in that corner and not mixed with the rest of the pool water. Since I'm in CT, I close my pool up and remover all the equipment for winter. So...

    Attach or insert?

I think I answered my own question and like the inset image better now. It seems different forums use different functions for posting pics. Learn something new everyday

    Attach or insert?

My mistake...thought you meant the other one. I've seen the one you're taking about but never tried it. I may have to play around with it more to see if there's any advantage. On my end...the first pic is full sized, the one with -attach- is a thumbnail. My own preference is to see the full size...

    Attach or insert?

If I'm understanding you correctly, I only use -insert-when I want a keyword to be a link to something relevant with the discussion. For posting pics etc, I use attach.

Pool Renovation, haven't seen this posted.

You can resize using a free program called Irfanview or you can do the quick and easy way using paint. Top left of the screen in paint shows -resize- If I am in a hurry and encounter too large of a file, I reduce it by 50% and it always works

TFP Expert Discussion - pH and Alkalinity

Thanks Matt...yes mine has the 4.0, along with 7.0 and 10.0 Glad you clarified using the 4.0, otherwise I may have been huh? lol The main reason for using the PH60 in this case is just having another way to verify. I trust the K2006 now that I've used it awhile, and can even see the transitions...

TFP Expert Discussion - pH and Alkalinity

Very informative Matt!! (y) , even though some of it was a tad too deep for me to comprehend on a Sunday morning:p. Picked up several pointers that I'll remember for sure. Like the temperature affecting the PH when using a probe, I didn't know that. I saw several that could be bought for less...

Dolphin Active 30i and acorns make my life miserable

Just re read your op and missed something. If the pieces are large enough to jam the impeller, forget what I said. I was thinking about small stuff and it finds a way to get in the robot housing. Like driving through a dust storm in Phoenix.

Dolphin Active 30i and acorns make my life miserable

I don't know how the Dolphin compares to my old Aquabot, but when I open our pool after being closed all winter, there are times when there is plenty of debris. Dirt, leaves, a mouse or 2, etc. Sometimes when I remove the bot to clean out the bag, I find debris outside of the bag. I'm assuming...
