    Second hand Maytronics Premier

Did you like your Premier? I currently have a Nautilus CC, and the Premier seems like a nice upgrade, even though it's an old model. I removed the impeller cover and discovered a mark that shows September 2017 as the manufacturing date. I guess the robot was purchased in 2018. Here in Long...

    Second hand Maytronics Premier

Thanks! @Mdragger88 I tried to input the serial number in the registration tool, but it doesn't tell me the manufacturing date. I sent an email to Maytronics to see if they can find out how old the robot is @Mdragger88 I agree on the ultra fine filter. I bought one for my Dolphin Nautilus CC...

    Second hand Maytronics Premier

Hi all, I have just bought a Dolphin Premier robot at a garage sale ($200 with caddy). I did a basic test: the robots turns on, and both the impeller and the brushes spin properly. I hope someone knows the robot, and can help me with some questions. 1) Is there any way to know the manufacturing...

    Very little flow from jets

The impeller was free. As soon as I pulled the cartridges out of the filter, I got normal flow from the skimmers. I cleaned the cartridges again, this time with an electric pressure washer at the lowest speed, and the problem is now solved. It looks like my hose nozzle was not strong enough...

    Very little flow from jets

I actually realized there is an air bubble inside the pump basket, and I occasionally see air bubbles from the jets. Would that be caused by an air leak? @Newdude Here is a picture of the equipment. The MPV was removed when the sand filter was replaced by a cartridge filter. Since I...

    Very little flow from jets

Yes, the pump basket is full of water, as far as I can see. I don't have any valves in my plumbing, so that can't be the problem. I will check the impeller tomorrow first thing in the morning.

    Very little flow from jets

Hi all, I opened my pool three days ago, after four weeks of "soft-opening" when I ran the pump 2 hrs/day with the cover on. When I opened the pool, the water was not perfect, but it was in decent shape (at least it was blue, and not green :-) ) The problem is that I am getting a very weak...

    "Pre-start" the pool

Quick update: - I soft-opened the pool yesterday, and I set the pump to run 2 hours a day (10pm-12am). - The cover is still on, so I was not really able to see if the water is clear. For sure, the smell wasn't great. - FC was 0, as expected - PH was 7.8 - CYA was 35, which is unexpected - I...

    "Pre-start" the pool

Thank you!!! This forum is one of the things I look forward to every year :-) Do you think turning on the pump for 2-3 hours a day would be enough, while the cover is still on? Also, do you recommend installing the filter cartridges, or would you wait for the water to be cleaner? And finally...

    "Pre-start" the pool

Hi! My pool is still winterized, with the cover on and the pump disconnected. I'll be traveling in the next four weeks and I won't be able to open the pool until May 29th. My concern is that temperatures will increase soon (I am in NY), and algae will grow before I open the pool. My neighbor...

Unable to open Pentair Amerilite light

Hi all, I am trying to replace my 10+ year old 500W bulb with a more efficient LED light. The light is a Pentair Amerilite 120V (P/N 78456300). I tried to remove the glass lens, but it looks like it's stuck on the case. This light has not been serviced since 2013. I tried to put a flat...

Replacing single pole switch with smart switch

Thank you all for your help! I connected the smart switch to the LOAD side of the GFCI (both hot and neutral), end everything is working great so far! After probably more than a decade, the pool light is on again :) And I finally have an outlet close to the pool, for the Dolphin. Next step is...

Replacing single pole switch with smart switch

Thanks @1poolman1 ! I just went to purchase a metal box and a GFCI and I got the opposite advice from the electrician at the store, i.e. they recommend using the load-side neutral for the smart switch. I tried to do my due diligence, but I am still confused. What I understood is that a GFCI...

Replacing single pole switch with smart switch

Thanks! Out of curiosity (and for the sake of learning): what would cause the GFCI to trip if I used the LOAD neutral instead of the LINE neutral for the smart switch?

Replacing single pole switch with smart switch

If I understood correctly, this is the wiring you are proposing, right? (ground wires omitted).

Wouldn't that be unsafe, as the switch would not be protected by the GFCI?

Replacing single pole switch with smart switch

Thanks! That's what I thought, but I didn't know if it was allowed for the smart switch and the pool light to "share" the same neutral wire from the GFCI. I'll work on it over the weekend and report back. As a fun note: this is what I am starting with. The metal box with the switch was...

From green water to cloudy water

Good point. I use 65% CalHypo. Basically, my FC drops by 2.6 every 24 hours. I never realized PoolMath had that feature. It's pretty cool!

From green water to cloudy water

Sorry I didn't post any updates! After 4 days of SLAMing, the water became crystal clear and I passed the OCLT test. The water has been perfect since then. I know it's obvious to you, but it was like a little miracle for me. Thank you again for your help @MITBeta and @Newdude ! My only doubt...

Replacing single pole switch with smart switch

Hi, While fixing my pool light, and decided to upgrade to a smart switch. Currently, I have is an old 2-gang outdoor metal box containing: - A GFCI receptacle - A Single-pole switch for the pool light The pool light gets power from the LOAD side of the GFCI (note that I omitted the ground...
