    Aerating

OMG is this actually working now!! back up to my target PH already and dropped about 20PPM TA overnight. I'm sitting at about 110PPM TA vs my start 140PPM. The chemistry feels like its starting to finally swing more vs staying too stable. I'll add muriatic this AM to drop my PH back down to 7.0...

    Aerating

At this poijnt I fully agree. Only went with it for the pinpoint accuracy I was getting but then again I did leave it out in a light rain last year. Functioned great after dried but looks like it messed it up in the long run haha. yea with the taylor kit its stupid quick and easy.

    Aerating

Ok, so i did adjust chlorine down as the water cleared up however, I thought something was funky. Found out my PH meter calibrated correctly but was not reading correctly and would keep dropping and never stabilize. Come to find out PH was actually 8.2. My CC are 0 and have been for a couple...

    Aerating

Delete, mistake on my part. I believe my tfp kit works with it but the color is different. I use a digital meter for mine though. I'm glad you pointed that out. I'm almost done slamming too so I should be able to verify soon. Yesterday we were at .5CC after 2.5CC and water is clear. I'm going to...

    Aerating

Perfect didn't have the bit you said so I used one size smaller at 11/64 and did like 10 holes ish per cap. After an hour we appear to have gone up .1ph so I'll have to keep monitoring to see the further increase. I haven't tested fully today though and only kept chlorine up because we are...

    Aerating

Haha thanks for the last part! The bucket was already on my mind. It would be a much easier way than what I use haha. I just use a garden hose and a cup. you can force water into the hose through the cup quickly and then I just run it through one of the lower intakes and out to the ditch haha...

Whoa! thats a really great idea to be honest!!! looks like thats my next project!! The tiny bubbles was my absolute mistake then. I was shooting larger bubbles under the water and not at the surface

    Aerating

Hello, Last year I struggled a little bit with aeration. We have a 14000 gallon above ground pool at 24' round. With that being said there were times I needed to lower TA. I believe I read baking soda was a bad method as I think I remember people saying it can cause cloudy water. With that said...

    Alternative for liquid chlorine

Our SWG is a cheap Intex one that has issues. With SWG prices when I was looking (haven't in a while and haven't expected them to lower) it was cheaper to run it and maintain it but supplement chlorine because we were getting algae blooms and cloudy water (supplemented with a product that had...

    Vinyl liner UV protectant

So, a little background, we are here in Pueblo Colorado area. We have a 24' Intex pool at 52" tall. UV degradation here seems to happen faster than most places ive lived so we take care to protect things that will suffer like that (many plastics). With that being said, I know there are...

    Alternative for liquid chlorine

I mean not a huge deal per se, just curious because I have a feeling we hay get shorted this year by the looks of incoming deliveries to local stores. Unfortunately none of our pool stores carry it. I just don't want the extra. We do have to watch calcium here for sure. Biggest reason why I'm...

    Alternative for liquid chlorine

Hey guys, I started a new method last year that worked exceptionally well. I'm starting to stock this year and I'm having a hard time getting liquid chlorine just like I was last year. We started supplementing and slamming with liquid at 10% and it was amazing. Is there an alternative to...

    Salt test recommendations.

Hey everyone! I was wondering what recommended items or methods you have for salt tests. I am using aqua check strips for the ease of reading but after finding massive variations in the charts between bottles even though the strips all measure the same, I'm not sure I can trust them as I am...

Solar panels to run pump and swg

Stuff like this has me left wondering who to truly believe.. I dunno, maybe it's just best to stick to leaving panels entirely out of the question for our whole house.. they really seem like more advertising vs feasibility

Solar panels to run pump and swg

I agree but... That's with all the quotes we've been getting... Maybe we shouldn't do this and I should just find a way to do it myself and have someone hook it up.. I've found that most of the solar contractors out here suck horribly and are very pushy

Solar panels to run pump and swg

That was the plan as well as intelligent charging which most "kits" come with. I have been slowly looking into options for that and seeing what is good and bad out there. We were also wanting storage to be able to run at night as the Night panels still aren't available yet on a wide scale ( read...

Solar panels to run pump and swg

We will be using excess. They never allow you to break even here but only average your usage for the panels.. last month we used 1931KWh although I am not sure what that equates to with KW in terms of our system. That is all unfamiliar to me yet. In the cold season we will use a lot less than...

Solar panels to run pump and swg

They have us doing an 8.96kw system but knowing our usage, it wouldn't be enough I feel as it was an average. As far as more panels were only have an additional 4 we could put on the roof as we are already at 28 so expansion is limited as we want to keep big panels off the ground till we get the...

Solar panels to run pump and swg

Just an effort to reduce usage because the house will still be on the grid. We are shooting for 0 electrical bills and reducing my usage will aid in that by offsetting my day usages. Unfortunately all we are allowed to do is net usage here. We've been talking with about 5 companies in the area...

Solar panels to run pump and swg

We are getting solar panels on our roof within the next month and I was wanting to separate out some of our outdoor devices from the house, the pool being one of those. Does anyone have any experience is doing an off grid system for pools where they could give advice or even materials that will...

    Aeration not working.

Ok, that makes absolute sense to me then. So far we don't see flaking on the cells so I will just leave it then. Your advice previously has never steered me wrong so I will just go with that. I appreciate your time!!

    Aeration not working.

PH level is amazingly stable, usually we sit at about 7.4 and rarely do I need to add anything to correct it. I put a brick carefully at the bottom of the pool with it.. its blowing air and water up in a circle about 2-4" above the surface. I tried a sprinkler pointed at the surface but it...

    Aeration not working.

I had a few questions for you guys. I read that aeration will help bring up PH if Using MA to drop it in regards to controlling alkalinity. So... I used a fireplace brick, cleaned it heavily, and tied an air chuck to it and ran the compressor to try to aerate the water to bring PH up. I've tried...
