    Raypak pool heater and mice?

This seems like designers of these heaters are not really talking with customers. A bit of screen here and there. This is obvious.

    Raypak pool heater and mice?

Ah a commercial solution! May I suggest you show before and after? I don't see what you are covering.

    Raypak pool heater and mice?

What genius designed this Raypak pool heater mouse hotel? Simply a stupid design. I used hardware cloth and covered the propane opening. Under the water in/out I had to stuff steel wool. Anyone else have a better solution? Nothing is worse than turning on the heater in the morning and see these...

    Is this Iron?

Ok update. It was not iron. I was lazy. Bought two The AQUABAG Removes Pool Iron, Copper and Cloudiness Without Chemicals I ran the filter bag specifically for iron. Did not get dirty. Used the pure 1 micron bag. It did get dirty. Looks like pollen to me. Like I said everything was covered in...

    Is this Iron?

Thats for stains, right? The sea green water is what I am trying to fix. That dark line in the photo is just some dirt particles caught in the liner seam. No big deal. I live off a gravel road. Dust is a constant battle. My water is pretty clear to the bottom. Not cloudy.

    Is this Iron?

The photo is not the best with that shadow. But you can clearly see my liner seam with a bit of dirt.

    Is this Iron?

The reason I ask is Slamming guide says never stop until it's clear water. But my brain goes green is not clear! Keep slamming. People say a sand filter takes forever to clear it out. But based on how clear to the bottom, but green. I think I need to let FC drift down and see what I got. Agree?

    Is this Iron?

Ok been slamming. CYA 50. FC 20. Last two nights have lost no chlorine. Yes I use well water. I have tested it many times and iron count is very low. No rust in tubs, etc. Replaced pump years ago and well guy was shocked the pump looked new!!! Anyway, I have had a pool for 4 years. I don't...

Why is my CYA so high after winter?

Also I have a pool cover on it now. So I figured cya as zero with UV would not matter

Why is my CYA so high after winter?

I have had this 15' by 52" (5000 gal) steel above ground pool (overlap liner) for about 3 years. This is my 4th spring start. All the prior years my CYA would be zero starting out in spring. Winterizing routine is a cheap winter cover and lower water below return. I usually use liquid chlorine...

    Flexible PVC in drainage tile?

Update on the "Iowa Method", blew the lines out this weekend. Hooked up the pump. Everything is great no leaks. Second winter was fine. Stay tuned for next year's update 🤣

    Temporary water storage?

I already have an emergency pump for my basement. Just wondering if someone did it. This is my kind of jam! Stay tuned for photos some day 🤣

    Temporary water storage?

I have a 15' x 52" pool steal sided above ground pool. Two years ago water delivery cost $200 (I don't want to pull 5000 gallons from my well at once). Some day I have to replace liner... Random thought has anyone used a transfer pump and buy off Facebook a cheap metal frame vinyl pool. Find a...

Cloudy Pool After Algaecide and LOTS of Shock

I live off a gravel road. This dust gets into the pool. Vacuum to sand filter won't work. It goes right through. The only way was buying a Dolphin E10 with ultra fine filter. A "DE" pool filter would probably work. If you have dust there are few ways to remove it. Either you have a ultra fine...

    Flexible PVC in drainage tile?

Update on the "Iowa Method". I just got the pump going this weekend. I blew out the lines of antifreeze and connected it up. I have a heater bypass and have not hooked that up yet. I will be in the next week or so. Things are working well. No leaks so far. Water levels are holding. The Iowa...

    Flexible PVC in drainage tile?

It's been a bit. But here is a update! The "Iowa Method" is going well. But we won't know until Spring when everything thaws out. This summer though I got it all hooked up. It worked great. No leaks! Super easy to connect all the flexible PVC. Attached are a few photos showing it winterized...

    Eyeball too loose

Ok, so when you install a eyeball you can thread it in first and leave the top and eyeball off. OR you can tighten it on first and then screw in to the pool. I don't have enough thread to put just the screw in part first and then put the eyeball in and have enough room to tighten the top...

    Flexible PVC in drainage tile?

So far everything is working well. I have electrical trenched in. Going to do bonding but waiting for propane company to add 500 gallon tank because trenching to house tank is 500' feet away. Not worth it. Once I get everything cleaned up and the heater is going I will post some more photos...

    Eyeball too loose

I have added a timer to my above ground pool. When it kicks the pump on the eyeball is sometimes pointing the wrong way. When there is no water pressure the eyeball moves really easy. I can't tighten it down more... So what's the solution?

    Flexible PVC in drainage tile?

Ok here are some photos. Have a 3 way bypass and a check valve. Don't have the heater hooked up. Electrical is temporary. But we went from spring to summer this week in Iowa. I just glued things in to the pump today. I will let cure over night. Of course I am nervous 😱 If this works you can...

    Flexible PVC in drainage tile?

I am planning on doing 2 trenches with 3" slit corrugated drainage tile with a silt sock. I was also thinking of using a 3" to 2" rubber boot with hose clamps to prevent anything going in from the outside. Flexible 1.5" PVC is 1.9" OD. I have not read about anyone doing this. But in theory...
