    Finally Done with the remodel

Apologies in advance for the re-direct, but I didn't want to take up the file size to post all the pics again. See "Help.. Messed up big time" in testing and balancing for my remodel of a 1950's pool and backyard. Glad to be done, to say the least! And, thanks for your replies as I went...

    Help... Messed up Big Time!

The old liner lasted over 20 years, and really didn't even start to fade until about 7 years ago when I bought the house and switched from Bacquacil to Chlorine. The only reason I really had to replace it was due to a tear resulting from trying to fix a corner that fell out of the track. Well...

Here's a couple of mid-project photos--since I raised the deep end, had to bust a hole in side, dig down about 6.5', and push new drain PVC through

    Help... Messed up Big Time!

I do have the TF 100. Good call, CYA is off the charts. Looks like I'll be dumping water all day. I'm not sure if the chlorine pucks that I have also have CYA in them, can someone please advise? They are: Pool Brand (Sam's Club) 3" tablets, that list ingredients as...

    Help... Messed up Big Time!

After spending nearly all of my time, effort, and $$$ completely remodeling my all concrete 1951 in-ground pool from April to July, I finally completed it. It does have a vinyl liner now. For the most part everything is new: liner, plumbing, sand filter, added seating and steps, low voltage...

    Replacing Vari-Flo Control Valve

Forgot to mention that it is a side mount. Should I at least drain the water out of the filter? It looks to me like the replacement valve comes with the plumbing that connects directly into the side of the filter?

    Replacing Vari-Flo Control Valve

My Hayward Vari-Flo control valve has a hairline crack on the return fitting that is just barely starting to leak. Is it possible to replace the valve without removing the 300 lbs of sand, that I put in about a day before I noticed the crack and leak? I fear that I know the answer to this...

    Skimmer location from liner track

I'm not having any luck in my attempts to shrink down the file size of the photo to an acceptable level, but I'm not sure that it would provide much insight as it's a bit complicated. Bama Rambler: I think we're on the same page--so the top of you skimmer faceplate is about 1" below the liner...

    Wall foam on floor?

Hello Again: I'm currently restoring a 16X30 inground concrete pool that was originally constructed in 1950. A vinyl liner was installed in the pool 15-20 years ago, and I'm going to replace it. When I took the old liner out, there was (what appeared to be) wall foam on the floor. I plan to...

    Skimmer location from liner track

Hello again: I'm still restoring a 62 year old concrete pool... Once finished it will have a vinyl liner. I am installing an new skimmer, and am wondering how much space I should have from the top of the skimmer face plate to the liner track. I have some flexibility on the skimmer location...

    Filter and Plumbing Help

Hello Everyone: I'm in the process of restoring an old pool and have the opportunity to install a new main drain, and suction line. Unfortunately, there's too much concrete in the way to put in new return lines (they were replaced a few years ago). Will it cause any filter/pump issues if I...
