Deck around pool and skimmer cover?

I think you're OK on the right side of your skimmer with the joist you have in place. You'll need some more support to the left of the skimmer though. I would put another post on the left side of the skimmer. Run a joist from that post parallel to the joist on the skimmer's left. You can lay...

Deck around pool and skimmer cover?

I just framed mine as close as I could to the skimmer. It left about a 12 inch wide opening. I built the deck so that it comes up to the pool railing. I used deck boards to make a lid with hinges to access the skimmer. I can stand on it and it's just as strong as any other part of the deck...

Deck around pool and skimmer cover?

Yep, that's what I ended up doing. Actually I just put a "lid" over the skimmer that I can raise up to clean the basket.

Passed OCLT, water is clear, what's next?

Passed OCLT, water is clear, what's next?

I have a small submersible pump that can connect to a garden hose. I'll pick up a cheap sprinkler at Wal-Mart to have on hand in case the pH drops again. I can just sit it on the deck and let it spray back into the pool.

Passed OCLT, water is clear, what's next?

I've been using the SWG and bleach to shock, mostly bleach. I've been using the 20 mule team borax but will add more tonight. I put 7 pounds of stabilizer in the pool back in April. I've been working at it for about a month now to get it cleaned up. I would say I have replaced about 25%...

Passed OCLT, water is clear, what's next?

I passed the OCLT and the water is finally clear. I just tested and got the following: FC: 7.5 CC: 0 PH: 6.8 TA: 140 CYA: 20 CH: 70 Salt: 2220 I'm going to retest the CYA tomorrow. I was getting a much higher number before but my water was also very cloudy. Now that it's clear I got a...

Need advice on a timer ...

The terminals are labeled A, 1, 2, 3, 4. Both neutral wires go to A. Hot from line goes to 1. And hot from load goes to 2. Terminal 3 and 4 are for a 240v setup.

Any recommendations for a solar cover reel?

I really like it. It seems to be durable and rolls up easily. The only issue I've had is when I roll the cover the cover sometimes gets caught on the edge of the pool railing and pulls the reel towards the pool. That is most likely due to my pool being oval though and not a problem with the...

Need advice on a timer ...

If you add a plug to the Compupool, the black wire is hot, red is neutral and green is ground if you have it switched over to 110.

Need advice on a timer ...

I had the same situation as you. I ended up getting an Intermatic T103-R timer. I have 110 going into the timer, one circuit coming out to a gfci receptacle with a weatherproof cover. My pump had a 3 prong plug so I just plugged it in. I then put a 3 prong plug on the SWG so that I could...

    Benefit of hard plumbing?

I hard plumbed my pool last weekend. The suction on the pool vac is substantially greater than it was with the flexible Hayward hoses that came with the pool.

    Chlorine holding but still cloudy

I tested this morning and FC went from 32 last night to 34.5 this morning. CC is somewhere between 0 and 0.5. It turns a very light pink and disappears completely with 1 drop.

    Chlorine holding but still cloudy

I may have found the answer here: http://www.troublefreepool.com/new-test-kit-reading-off-the-chart-t2724.html "At high chlorine levels, the TA test goes from blue to yellow instead of from green to red so your TA is 150 ppm." That would put my TA at 120.

    Chlorine holding but still cloudy

I ran the TA test again. I rinsed with pool water first Filled the large vial to 25ml Added 2 drops of R-007 Added 5 drops of R-008 Added 12 drops of R-009 swirling after each drop, I did not wipe the bottle though After the 12th drop it turned yellow like below. I did the test a few days...

    Chlorine holding but still cloudy

I passed the overnight from last night. The filter has been going 24/7 for about a week of shocking. I have never used DE before but I only put the pool in last summer. I didn't try the TA test again but the reagents are new. I just got them a few weeks ago.

    Chlorine holding but still cloudy

I've got my free chlorine holding now but the pool is still really cloudy. I've been brushing and vacuuming daily. Test from this evening show: FC: 32 CC: 0 pH: 7.2 TA: 300??? CYA: 80 CH: 90 I had to guess at the TA. The kit says it will go from green to red. Mine went from green to blue...

    Solar panel configuration dilemma

Oh OK, that may be what the panel instructions recommended. I know I read 1/4" for the angle and it may have been 1/4" per foot. I'll double check that when I get home but that sounds about right.

    Solar panel configuration dilemma

I'm going to be installing 4 2'x20' Sungrabbers this weekend. The instructions that came with my panels recommends installing them angled like your third picture. That's what I was planning to do. I don't have the instructions with me but I think it specified an angle where the high side was...

Hayward Leaf Canister or Zodiac Baracuda

Does the Hayward leaf canister or Zodiac Baracuda leaf canister connect to a standard vacuum hose for a hand vacuum? I still can't see the bottom of my pool and would like something that would allow me to see the dirt flow through the hose so I can tell when I'm vacuuming a really bad area...

CPSC36 Installed, Foam on the Water

I've got it on 50% right now. How can I determine what percent to set it to once the pool is clean? Is it just trial and error by testing until the correct FC is holding or is there some guideline I can use to get started? The CompuPool manual is not very helpful with operation of the unit...
