    Yeah that makes sense to me now. Regarding the cloudiness of the water: would it hurt to add some stabilizer or should I leave it alone?

    @akrauze this us what my little test strips show: Thanks for the advice @Texas Splash I’m not concerned about the hardness as I’m adding more water after vacuuming, and it goes down by itself after a while.

    Update: I got the vacuum working and then skimmed the Crud out of the pool. Still looking a bit cloudy but I can live with that unless anyone would suggest using a small amount of clarifier?

    I’m about to go vacuum. Should I shut the filter off while doing so or yet disconnect the return hose?

    Yes, water comes out of the black hose. I’m waiting on my Taylor kit, just ordered it. I have a Clorox test kit, but I know that’s not what TFP members recommend.

    Thanks! So I have a question. The return hose would be the black hose, correct? Or is it the gray one? I have plenty of filters lol. Also, I have a skooba vacuum that I’ve never used, along with an aqua blaster and one that attaches to a garden hose and has a mesh bag. This is what the bottom...

    so, I’m a bit lost on what to do wand could use some help. We didn’t store our pool (Summer Waves 20x48 vinyl) pool over the winter. (First mistake.)
