Pentair Superflo 2-speed, 1 1/2 hp very noisy

Sorry, replied to someone else's thread. I took your advice and purchased a new Pentair pump yesterday, which is being installed Tuesday. Hoping it will be more energy efficient and last several years. The only one they had in stock was a Superflo VS. Most dealers didn't even had a pump in...

Pentair Superflo 2-speed, 1 1/2 hp very noisy

The past couple of days my pump has been running very noisy. I began troubleshooting by removing the clamp/lid, which has always taken a rubber mallet to get on and take off, putting magic lube on the O-Ring. Then I put my hand in the opening to see if the impeller was blocked. Got a few...

    Taylor Speedstir Will not Work

Sorry to jump on this old thread, but I just bought my third one on Amazon after the other two failed, and this one doesn't work. I first replaced the batteries it came with and even when I get the light on and it spins for about 2 seconds and stops. Replaced with another set of batteries...

Blue Chunks on steps & pool cleaner

So, I had a new cell in the IC40 this year, but I have not cleaned it during this season. Is this a problem, having copper in the water?

Blue Chunks on steps & pool cleaner

For the past month I have been noticing light blue particles sitting on my white steps and in the Dolphin pool cleaner filters. When you touch this substance it flakes and disintegrates. I haven't opened the Pentair filter to look at the cartridges. The Raypak pool heater was fired up about a...

Ordered complete kit from TFP, and pH doesn't seem correct to me

I ordered a complete TFP refill kit, including a Taylor salt test kit this spring, and it came with the Taylor K-1001 Basic kit. I like using the Taylor K-2006 instructions found inside the top of their kit. I also like placing the TFP reagents in the Taylor color-capped bottles. What threw...

    Pool Decking Sealing, Painting, etc.

Hope this is the right place in the forum to ask for this advice. Our pool is 17 years old, our pool deck is brushed concrete with a stamped concrete border, which you can hardly see because we haven't put glossy sealer on it in a couple years. There are section that are deteriorating. The...

Clear Blue Water but still new algae everyday

Well after adding Yellow Treat the pool is finally looking good, however, can keep the FC up. I have unplugged the SWG. This morning the FC has dropped to 15, so I added a jug of 10% bleach to try to get it back to 20. Brushed the entire pool twice today. Well, I just tested the chemicals in...

Clear Blue Water but still new algae everyday

Pharmcoder, Looks like we have similar equipment, cement coping, pump, Dolphin, etc. I always bleach the filters before reusing them in the Dolphin. Please share your journey. This is my second year of mustard algae, and weeks trying to get rid of it. Thought it was over, but obviously never...

Clear Blue Water but still new algae everyday

I concede. I thought I could do it with Pool Math and following advice from experts on this forum. After slamming my pool for days and putting in over 50 jugs of bleach, I am no where. I am going to call some pool companies tomorrow to hire someone to come look and care for it. Pool...

Clear Blue Water but still new algae everyday

SCREAM! Was pretty sure based upon comments that I didn't have mustard algae, but rather dirt & grit getting into the pool from the concrete decking. So, I got the chemicals at the recommended PM levels, and added 200 lbs. of salt. A day later I turned on the SWG and all lights read green...

Clear Blue Water but still new algae everyday

They were dirty. I have this cartridge cleaning tool that goes between the pleats. Cleaned each filter, and then turned them upside down and cleaned them again, until the brown was no longer present. I have my original filters soaking in TSP in a large trash can.

I am so not an expert, so I am hoping if all of you can tell me if I truly have mustard algae?
