They were dirty. I have this cartridge cleaning tool that goes between the pleats. Cleaned each filter, and then turned them upside down and cleaned them again, until the brown was no longer present. I have my original filters soaking in TSP in a large trash can.

Cleaned the cartridges two days ago, and they were brand new this year.

After adding more bleach to get from 17 back up to 24, I just tested at 4:10pm, and it is at 18.

I am so not an expert, so I am hoping if all of you can tell me if I truly have mustard algae?
