    HELP, hose broke off pump

Wow, it's hard to imagine how that series of events could have happened in sequence... bat, hose pop, drain then breaker. hmmmm... I would just concentrate on clearing the lines, adding water and testing the pump.

    HELP, hose broke off pump

First check your breakers and GFCIs, it's likely one of them may have blown before damage occurred.

My Intex Ultra Frame 16x48 build

I have a question regarding your Hayward return connection. I understand that these returns are 1-1/2" threaded straight through, and most of the connectors I see getting used are pipe nipples or other barb adapters and I assume these are tapered threads. Is it possible to thread a tapered...

    Used Hayward Sand Filter

It's awesome, I got it for $100... I took it all apart and cleaned it up, added new sand and it's running nicely. The sound will take some getting used to and the motor seems warm to me. Is there a way to bleed the air from the system?

    Used Hayward Sand Filter

Greetings! I am running out to Look at a used Hayward Sand Filter and Pump (1HP). I am hoping to find a few key things to check for to make sure it is still operational. It was used to filter a 24' AGP and I have a 22' and looking to upgrade from the Intex Filter pump I have. I have no...

Greetings! I am curious to see your pool/spa, sometimes I refer to mine as a "big cool spa" because all the adults just sort of hang on the edges. Please post pics... if you don't mind. Thank you, and welcome!

Where are the swimmers for all these pools?

It is just three landscape timbers, with white lattice. I have had to add a 2x4 between the posts since this pic, but it still up and we love it. Behind it was just 3 foot chain link and we needed to break it up a bit. Loving the pool this summer!

Fine particals, silt and a sock

I don't use a skimmer, because I found that unless you run the thing constantly it will do little good. Most of the time I spin my pool, along with netting and an occasional vacuuming. Once a week or so, I will leave the pump on for maybe 6 hours and add the sock. I love it!

@CaOCl2 Thanks so much for the quick response after my delivery concerns. Considering the challenges from your server and the holidays involved, shipping could be considered pretty quick, actually. Got it yesterday. :goodjob:

Another Dumb Question, Shocking After Swimming?

I usually test in the morning and evening, and add chlorine as needed. There is a daily dosing of chlorine, and adding chlorine "up to shock level".

Fine particals, silt and a sock

I wanted to share a tip and give credit to the member that pointed me to Duda deisel, but couldn't find the original post. I bought two of the 14"x4" 1 micron Polyester filter bags for really cheap ($3.50 or so) and my water is crystal clear now. I used to have water that was "a little cloudy"...

Replacing plunger valves on Intex Easy Set

I suppose if you didn't have a need to replace the inside piece, you could try a soft rimmed bowl and hold onto the thread outside (retaining the inside piece). I did see how this could be possible, but i needed to replace both inside and outside. Good Luck!

Replacing plunger valves on Intex Easy Set

I replaced the return valve (higher one) by just being prepared (and quick!). It's a good one to practice on because there is less pressure on the higher valve. I did it because my new valves with my replacement pump (2500gph) did not have the plastic debris screen over it, I needed an aerator.

Temps in the 100's robbing the Chlorine ?

I am using more too. I use 12.5% liquid chlorine and sometimes add two cups in the AM, two cups in the evening. But, we use it all day long, splashing and aerating... -Bill

    I have a swamp

Nope, CC of zero is ideal. Higher than .5 means you need to go to shock level.
