New liner and new water fill

The app always reverts to 5ppm. Is there a way to set what i would like it to be by default? As I accidentally added 51oz instead of 31oz because the app reverted back to 5ppm instead of 3ppm. Not the end of the world as uncovered/dirty and will come down quite quickly I assume (waiting for a...

New liner and new water fill

I used the sock method BUT....in the skimmer basket... and went out about every hour to squeeze it for a few minutes to get the juices flowing. I also have the pump running non-stop since the sock was added. I will leave the pump running to circulate overnight as well. Hopefully this is...

New liner and new water fill

I've put in the recommended 2lbs of stabilizer and retested a few minutes ago and I can easily see the black dot at 30ppm. Should I give it another hour and retest? Water temps are 63-65c. Does this matter? I recall letting the sample get to room temp ~70 or something might be good? At what...

New liner and new water fill

Hey all! I had my liner for my above ground pool tear. I had a new one installed and had to do a full re-fill. My fill water has high TA of 300. What should I focus on? The pool guy that helped setup some equipment and fix my heater said I should not add any chlorine and just add acid to reduce...

Above Ground Pool Emptied - Help!

@kimkats I am unsure about the liner. This isn't my pool (in that i didn't buy or have it installed) - it came with the house when I bought it last year. Is there a way to check what I have. I was curious - as looking at replacement liners is confusing due to the install types.

Above Ground Pool Emptied - Help!

I have loosened the steel wire that keeps the cover over the pool and just pushed the cover into the pool. What is rather interesting - is that the pool is just completely frozen (live in Chicago) and it looks to be frozen at about half the pool depth. I had the pillow in there - and its frozen...

Above Ground Pool Emptied - Help!

So the recommendation would be to remove the steel cable from the pool cover entirely and just loosely place the cover back into what's left of the pool (if anything)?

Above Ground Pool Emptied - Help!

Slight correct to original post... the cover itself contains just water. However, i can feel underneath and there is definitely ice still in the pool (under the cover). Pictures for the issue are posted here as well. Thanks again all!

Above Ground Pool Emptied - Help!

Hey all, I am am pretty new here and I believe I may have done something to close my pool that caused it to leak and empty. I woke up this morning after a very very strong wind storm overnight to see my pool cover 2/3 into my pool and water all over my grass/yard. I tried to see what was going...

    First Year Closing AG Pool

Thank you ALL for all the feedback. I cannot say thank you enough to all your kind folks taking the time to reply. I spent my event closing up the pool. Here is what i did and i think i feel pretty comfortable/happy. 1. 24 hours ago - SLAM'ed the pool based on at the time testing levels etc...

    First Year Closing AG Pool

I will be covering the AG pool with a tarp. I'll be lowering the level below the skimmer and using a 4x8 pool pillow. I have SLAM'ed the pool and the FC levels are back down to 11. I had to add water as I accidentally drained too much... Should I retest my CYA? Or just wait till spring to make...

    First Year Closing AG Pool

Hey Guys! It's my first year with my new home and AG pool. It has been an incredible experience to own a pool and I wouldn't have had so much FUN with it if it wasn't for this forum. Now I have read the closing posts for AG pools. And I have a few questions ( I am in Chicagoland area for...

New Phone - How to transfer Pool Details to new App

I still have the original phone. I just have had issues with the USB-C port and it charging well... so bought a new phone while i await the latest Pixel. As for the app and how i transferred it, i used the default google transfer app. This doesn't seem to transfer the configs for the apps -...

New Phone - How to transfer Pool Details to new App

I recently had to get a new cell phone. After transferring all my data using the Android/Google transfer system/app I logged into Pool Math using my account. It immediately said i have to setup a new pool. Is there a way to transfer the pool config and all history from the previous phone? I...

Changes to plumbing above ground pool - thoughts/guidance would be welcomed!

hahahah no worries mate... you are brilliant for your continued support. At least when you have a brain fart i am learning enough to be able to know whats what (sometimes/ish!).

Thanks for this. I will go grab the valve out of the box and look at it again. As for the caution statement above - #2 that if in that position (once i fix the above) it would have the water flow from the filter to the heater. I assume you mean #1 - as if i close the water from the filter -...

Changes to plumbing above ground pool - thoughts/guidance would be welcomed!

I'll post a video on a little bit. But it's not possible to get the off to #2. It only goes to #1, #3 and the opposite side of #2. So in that position all three lines are fully open. If I unscrew the middle part, and pull the handle off, it only connects one way due to the size of the slots in...

Changes to plumbing above ground pool - thoughts/guidance would be welcomed!

How would I have the valve set if I want the heater to be included? If the handle is twisted so it is over the top of the "bypass" and the "off" is facing the non-piped side of the valve... There is flow from the filter, the bypass is open, AND the heater is open. How do I close the bypass...

Changes to plumbing above ground pool - thoughts/guidance would be welcomed!

Okay. Got it. I'm going to have to move the pad for the filter and pump away from the heater to make this work. Hopefully I'll be able to figure out all out! Concerned the heater and pad are not on the same level exactly. Thanks again for the replies and all the support. Much appreciated.

Changes to plumbing above ground pool - thoughts/guidance would be welcomed!

OK now i must just be missing something here. Here is what my valve looks like see attached image) In this position all things are open. Meaning water can flow in all directions. Which one of these would be the inlet from the filter? The only way what your describing would work is if this...

Moving the check valve accomplishes what i think we are talking about? Before the check valve was going to be between the heater outlet, a 3 way connection with no valve or shut off (1 way goes to the 3 way valve/filter the other to the pool). With the check valve here - it will prevent ANY...
