    Acid wash service in Phoenix

Hello everyone! I'm looking for any recommendations for a good acid wash company in Phoenix. I have a 20'x40' plaster pool that I have drained and am doing some maintenance. I need to do some plaster patching. But getting close to finishing and need to do an acid wash to really clean the pool...

    High Alkalinity

Thanks for the feed back. I'm stuck with the CyA levels until I'm able to drain this fall. Just trying to get through this summer so that I can drain and do some additional pool maintenance.

    High Alkalinity

I did wipe the tip in-between drops, I will see about trying to get nice full drops, but this is my second test and the first was pretty much the same, showing TA of over 200

    High Alkalinity

So just got the TF - 100 over the weekend and this is my second set of test results: FC: 8.5 CC: .5 pH: 7.8 TA: 250 CH: 575 CYA: 100 TEMP: 90 CSI: .99 Big question is I know that TA is affected by high levels of CyA. So should I be dropping the pH really low and really dropping the TA or is...

    Advice on testing device

Oh, and just for the record, I stopped purchasing any additional store chemicals other than liquid chlorine and muriatic acid when I found this web site. So I'm not following the treatment recommendations of the pool store, just following the TFP program. Thanks for all the feed back

    Advice on testing device

The test kit is on the way. The pool has been crystal clean all summer, no algae like I had last summer. I might end up still doing the leslie's program, maybe just for this summer, to compare the tester with the TF - 100 test kit, I'm a geek for data and to be able to perform a comparison test...

A newbie needs help balancing PH, ALY, and Chlorine

Maybe I'm wrong here and someone can correct me, but all powered shock contains CYA to stabilize the chlorine. I do and would only use liquid chlorine.

    Advice on testing device

Yeah, I get that, and I do have plans to purchase the TF 100 with the speed stir and pH meter, I just don't see the need right now with my CYA so high that I know I have to drain in the fall. I'm spend more than $50/month on chemicals so the cost of the tester from Leslie's isn't really a...

High cyA - Options During Summer?

My CYA is around 150, I plan to drain and refill in the fall. I have a 36k gal IG plaster pool and have been maintaining FC between 10-17ppm all summer, also in Phoenix, by adding about 3-6 gallons of liquid chlorine every week. So it is managable. And since I can pick up 2 gals for $8 at Frys...

    Advice on testing device

So the people at my local Leslie's Pool store, I'm in the process of ordering a TF 100, but waiting until fall when I empty and refill my pool, told me that Leslie's is starting a new program that will let some pool owner's lease their water tester, AccueBlue, for $50/month but then give you a...

Been a pool owner for 2 1/2 years. Looking to reduce costs and time with pool care. I have a huge ash tree next to the pool that sheds seeds and leaves in the pool non-stop. Looking to get away from the pool store costs and products.
