I had a mess this week, went on vacation, came back green pool.
thats all fixed now, but my drum that i thought would last til winter is empty and its got me thinking about a SWG. I bought a stenner pump with tank earlier this year which is great but it ran out (due to my math being wrong)...
ok cool, i added a quart at lunch around 230 today and it got it down to about 7.8-8 then another quart after work brought down to 7.5ish before i started heavy with the bleachy stuff
thanks, i can do most of that i believe. 2 hrs wont happen during day due to work but i live close enough i can come home for lunch and possibly one other time throughout day
filter got cleaned out and new sand beginning of season so i think it should be good,
i backwashed some earlier today and it was clear. does that mean i didnt backwash long enough?
So this what i gathered...
-Take tabs out
-check chlorine levels multiple times a day and add to shock level, would morning, lunch time, 5ish, and then 10ish be good?
-i have a robot vacuum, should i run it now?
-basically its gonna take a week
What else?

i saw your setup and really like it, it helped me decide that i wanted to go the pump route. i really cant see burying a barrel where mine goes but maybe eventually cuz i purchase a year would be super sweet! thanks!
Hello folks, first i want to thank everyone for their help so far. I was nervous buying a house with a pool but with yalls help its clear and awesome!
However, now that i have the maintenance figured out, i want to use as much technology available to make my life easier, adding liquid chlorine...
im down in auburn, ky which is about a little over an hr from the nearest Menards (Owensboro). Id like to purchase quite a bit since my local dealer has 10% for $4ish. How long is stored in my garage would you recommend storing 12.5%? if its only a month it probably wouldnt be economical to make...
Howdy folks, i know yall are gonna get sick of me asking stupid questions but here goes.
Ive got a hayward power-flo xl pump 70gpm sp1580z2

Ive been adding and it seems to never go up as much as its supposed to, but maybe ive been using cheap stuff. Ive got it at dollar store but its supposed to be 7.5. ill get clorox tomorrow and aee what happens. Thanks
Yesterday i tested the pool again and got the following
Fc 1.5
Ph 7.3
Ta 120
Cya 40
Poolmath says only add 87 oz of bleach to get to fc5, that seems like not enough. What yall think

we moved in in january, im new to poolcare, and am not sure how diligent the former owners were. I had to add probably 5000 gallons a couple weeks ago and just put the tablets in a couple days ago. I did the CYA test how it described but i know it said it was the most subjective so i may not...
that was my plan to buy liquid bleach today to get the fc where it needs to be and then use tablets til they run out and use liquid from then on, strictly from a i already have the tablets standpoint but im not sure what type they are. i know they are clorox but ill run home on lunch and find...
