    Coping Sinking?

Yes this is what my maintenance company said when they came by. They said they have seen this on several pools this week?

    Coping Sinking?

Like I said before I truly appreciate your insight but I am not going to pull up any of the travertine myself. If the PB suggest doing so this week when they asses then that’s on them and will be covered through their warranty before me taking a circular saw to it. My Pool Maintenance company...

    Coping Sinking?

Yes they are coming out this week. They said it was from the freeze most likely. I’m sure they n would prefer I not take my husbands circular saw to the area. lol but I appreciate your help :)

    Coping Sinking?

Oh, there’s actually quite a bit of space between them. I could probably stick a tool down there to try and wedge the stones up,If I really wanted to. I can measure it tomorrow?

    Coping Sinking?

I see. Thanks for the insight. I don’t feel comfortable taking any stones apart with tools. My husband couldn’t lift them either.

    Coping Sinking?

Can you explain what’s loose because nothing is loose? Where should I be checking? Is there something deeper underneath the travertine?

    Coping Sinking?

Thanks so much. I’ll update :) I see. I didn’t want it grouted. I requested the French lay without grout. Maybe a mistake on my part but it was just what looked cleanest in my opinion so I’ll live with that choice.

    Coping Sinking?

We have had horrifically cold freezing temperatures for the last three weeks. Two boughts of snow that we blew off the decking asap. I’m in North Carolina and we’ve had teens and 20s for three weeks. It’s finally starting to warm up.

    Coping Sinking?

Def possible. All of it is mortared down. I couldn’t lift them at all. There is a gap between the coping and the decking I will measure it tomorrow. Anything else I should measure or evaluate? Thank you very much I appreciate you!

    Coping Sinking?

Yes I did. I was present for the entire installation. I took pictures of most everything I could think of.

Picture of concrete sub base of corner of concern and then stone laid. Silver Travertine- 1”? Not sure I can go back and measure my spare pieces. I would have to measure that but can do so.

    Coping Sinking?

Yes I measured all the way around the tanning ledge and it all contained the exact same amount of water and height. It makes me think the decking is lifting vs the coping.
  29. T

    Coping Sinking?

Mortared the decking needs lifted or the coping? I don’t have any reason to believe the shell of the pool is sinking (gunite) but if there is a test I can do to be sure let me know thanks so much.

    Coping Sinking?

It was concrete - no the only thing recently was about 2-3 weeks of below freezing temperatures. Everything looked fine prior to that.
