    New Spa Can't Maintain FC

Moved from HERE @RDspaguy I’m in the same boat with the ozone on a new american whirlpool spa just delivered this week. In the morning, i’m not registering any FC but very high cc. I’ve got an @ease floating mineral and chlorine ball but i don’t think that does much. Would the nature2 take...

    New hot tub

We are getting our new hot tub delivered this week and it's coming with the frog @ease system for free. Is that worth it to do for the first three months or so and change to the recommended maintenance listed on this thread on the subsequent fills?? I've got the pool levels dialed in and have...

@mknauss ok...i think I've made some improvements and getting the hang of this. I am doing the exchange of water slowly but did get it down. Here's the latest numbers. One question...should I lower the pH to 7 to get the alkalinity down??

After reading the post about draining, sounds like exchanging is a safe alternative. @mknauss . I'll order a sump pump and do that soon. If you have any recommendations on a reasonable one, please let me know. BTW...thanks for all the information. I'm trying to use the search feature as much...

@mknauss any reason I can't drain some of the pool connecting to the spigot off the equipment?

@ciaka according to the fc/cya chart, my fc needs to be at a minimum of 8 with a recommended of 10 based on my cya level. So until I can lower my cya, I need to add liquid chlorine. That sounds correct??

@mknauss got it. I've got zero algae and a clear pool. I'll drain some soon to get the cya level down but I just need to adjust to the target fc/cya chart. No need to slam correct? It's starting to feel a bit familiar...hopefully not driving your crazy with questions!

Here's today's measurements. If I'm reading this right I need to add some liquid chlorine to raise the free chlorine, correct?? Can you explain why the recommendation of the pool math app is targeting higher number than a pool store is? @mknauss @ciaka I've got some home depot liquid chlorine...

I already bought the full version of pool math. Once the rain stops I'll take another pool sample. I'll have to get some liquid chlorine. I'll do some searching on the site to see where the best place is.

OK. I've turned off the inline chlorinator. We are having crazy rain today. I will test the water again once it stops. If I have to drain some water, do I just drain it down to the skimmer?? Do I use a sump pump to take the water out?

@mknauss . A little confused. Sorry for the ignorance. I've got a inline puck system. Should I be turning that off in the winter??

    Hello from Georgetown, Texas

Hello. We moved from the rainy Pacific Northwest last spring to the sun of Texas. Our first mission was to put in the pool. Overall, we are very happy with it. The backyard is turning out into the resort living we were wanting. The pool came with 90 days of maintenance and since then I’ve...
