The diameter of the pin on the replacement 4720 is about 1/64 inch bigger than the socket. Obviously the easiest thing, if there were an abundance of valves available that weren’t stupidly expensive, would be to replace the whole valve but such a waste if I don’t need to!

The very last 1/2 inch yes. Ran a notch along underside of travertine which fixed all of the cascade except that last 1/2 inch

The oddity here is that it only impacts one edge and the last 1/2 inch of it. From the inside edge to the last 1/2 inch it’s perfect.
