    Pool cleaner recommendations

I have had 2 zodiac mx8 vacs and I like it when it works but I’m tired of either buying parts or just replacing the unit. I have. 10k gallon pool with a screen enclosure. Any recommendations on a vac that won’t get stuck in corners and doesn’t require parts replacement so frequently?

Which rock salt (Calcium Product) do you use?

I have low calcium sitting at about 125 and I need it to go up to about 250. I had added what appears to be the correct amount of calcium per the Pool math calculator on 2 separate occasions over the past couple of weeks but the 125 range remains the same. Which brand on Amazon do any of you...

Suction side Air leak from skimmer line

Issue has been resolved and there are no air leaks or water dripping under the skimmer. I installed a new line on the back skimmer port and capped the front one. The line line wraps around my deck in the grass. I then joined it with the existing run before it turned under the deck.

Suction side Air leak from skimmer line

I looked at the pipe that remains under my deck and I cut the remaining unusable joint with the intention of cleaning up the pipe and adding a new coupler to being reconnecting the skimmer. After cutting the pipe, the shifting dirt exposed more pipe deeper about another foot and there was...

Suction side Air leak from skimmer line

I cut the old pipe out and unscrewed the threaded fitting pretty easily. I may consider using the existing pipe if I can figure out how to join all the parts together. I think I may have to make a join in the shape of a letter C like in the attached photo from a YouTube clip I pulled up. I also...

Suction side Air leak from skimmer line

Thanks. The problem is there is no room to work under there at all. The first foot of piping is all fittings and 45 degree elbows. By the time I cut it all out, the First available 2 inch pipe is tucked pretty deep in the hole which will be pretty hard to reach and also I may not be able to...

Suction side Air leak from skimmer line

Another thing I tested before I removed the plug and cut off piece of pipe was I applied a liberal amount of lube on the other joint of the active skimmer pipe where the leak was occurring while the pump was running. I immediately noticed the bubbles almost completely stop at the pool return...

Suction side Air leak from skimmer line

Thanks. Hopefully someone finds my method useful. I definitely thought about drilling but I had no room at all to use a drill and there really was not much pipe to work with to even attempt to drill through it.

Suction side Air leak from skimmer line

I lowered the water level below the skimmer line and I decided to remove the cap from the unused port and then remove the cut off piece of threaded pipe the was coming out of the bottom. This piece that was coming from the bottom did not want to budge so I used several methods with the limited...
