Hayward Eco-Star Pump - Clicking Noise I just noticed

I don't know how or why it would have moved, but that's a good idea. I will try to man handle the cover and see if I can manipulate it in any way.

Hayward Eco-Star Pump - Clicking Noise I just noticed

I'm really bummed this afternoon. Has anyone with experience with hayward pumps ever noticed a noise like this? I recorded a quick video of the back of the pump. I don't know how long it's been doing this, but it doesn't sound right. Is my pump about to die? I'm about 6 months out of my warranty...

    Foam again!

Thanks Guys. I'll chew on this and see if I can resolve. As suggested I may do another do-over drain and refill. :) -steve

    Foam again!

One other thing, I understand high CYA will inhibit chlorine and the reason to have lower CYA is to essentially have more FC avaliable to attack germy things. BUT, if I'm not mistaken, higher CYA will not really mean dirtier water with a given FC level. It just means it will take a longer period...

    Foam again!

So let me reply to you guys because I want to get to the bottom of this and try not to repeat if I do refill, since i thought my last refill was going to be the last one for a couple months! Store brand is the one I buy, just regular unscented. Nothing else. 6%. Should be ok here I gather. FC...

    Foam again!

Hi guys, I don't know what's going on with my spa. 3 weeks ago I drained and refilled my spa with fresh water. Added CYA (too much, but should not cause a problem @ 80ppm) and have only been adding bleach to my 500Gal spa to chlorinate. All seemed ok for a couple weeks I guess. But now when the...

Chlorine and MPS in my spa?

    Awesome. Thanks so much.

Chlorine and MPS in my spa?

Great, thanks for the information. Knowing what I've learned from TFP, let me ask another question. Say chlorine is used attacking bacteria or other nefarious stuff in the water. This takes FC and ultimately ends up as CC, correct? This CC doesn't just go away, right? Isn't that the reason most...

Chlorine and MPS in my spa?

Ok, so I'm not a complete noob, but I do have a question about MPS. I have a fresh fill in my 400 gallon spa. I added 80ppm CYA and have been using bleach to sanitize. Is there a reason to add MPS? And if so, when do I do it? It says it's a non-chlorine oxidizer, but isn't chlorine an...

    Ozone Bubbles

That kit is it. Thanks. What I really need is just the little breather vent on that tall PVC Pipe. I could rig a pipe like that if I had that valve. I may call them and ask if they can just send me that part of the kit, like replacement parts. I wonder how noisy this will be. Hmm.. Thanks for...

    Ozone Bubbles

Oh, and to answer your other question, I have the variable speed injector from Del Ozone as my feeder to the returns. It's a great piece of plumbing that adjusts to the flow of the water. Works well as far as I can tell.

    Ozone Bubbles

There's no leak, thankfully. And I think the big bubbles come from building up at the apex of a T and then they all sploosh out at once. The big bubbles come at like 15-20 second intervals. The flow meter on the eclipse unit (yes I have that one) reads right in the middle. It's pulling as much...

    Ozone Bubbles

Hi folks, Not sure if this is the right section, but I thought it sounded right. I've searched for some answers but all I've found is one unacceptable solution. I have an Eclipse Ozone generator for my pool. The thing creates enough Ozone for a 15k Gal pool. It's great. Love it. I have a 12.5K...

1 week old pool - DiamondBrite Quartz Plaster Issues??

Hi folks, Thanks for all the help getting my pool started. I've been testing 3 or 4 times daily trying to ensure good water balance for my new DiamondBrite pool plaster. I have the super blue quartz version. Now, before I go any further, understand that the pictures I'm attaching really do...

New Pool, New Plaster, New-bie, oh my..

My fill water is from the tap, and I have a test kit. From Leslie's. It's the delux poolcare DPD test.. Doesn't test hardness, but tests FC and TC, PH, Acid Demand and Total Alcalinity. I'm not sure if any of those will be the test for iron which would mandate sequestriants, but I can ask the...

New Pool, New Plaster, New-bie, oh my..

Also, if I go to leslie's and buy some trichlor, can anyone give me some insight on about how much I may need? I'm sure I can measure the chlorine level by hand, but is putting a puck in a sock in the skimmer pretty much the way to go? Or two pucks? Do you remove the pucks after a certain FC...

New Pool, New Plaster, New-bie, oh my..

What does this mean? (from npconline) Although optional, it is highly recommended to pre-dilute and add a quality sequestering agent using the recommended initial start-up dosage and then the recommended maintenance dosage per the sequestering agent’s manufacturer Thanks.

New Pool, New Plaster, New-bie, oh my..

Thanks guam and msg... I will go buy a kit from a store today and do some hardness testing on my tap water. I live in Texas, so I think I'm going to have pretty hard water. I'll post those results this afternoon. I've read every article in the pool school page. I love it! Very educational and...

New Pool, New Plaster, New-bie, oh my..

Hello people, this is my first post to TFP.com, but already I've learned so much. This is a great resource! I'm very excited to be wrapping up my pool construction project. The plaster crew is coming in tomorrow to apply diamond brite super blue plaster so I should be ready to begin filling the...
