Blue torrent/calimar 1.5hp pump won’t change speed for 10 minutes

I don’t see anything in the manual about a priming setting. That sounds like what is going on but I can’t figure out how I turned it on or how to turn it off.

Blue torrent/calimar 1.5hp pump won’t change speed for 10 minutes

A couple weeks ago I installed a new blue torrent vs 1.5hp pump. I’ve been running it on manual mode with no issues. Today I started to set up the schedule mode and now when on manual mode no matter what speed is selected the pump is locked on 2500rpm (which is speed 2) for a ten minute...

Rx clear 1.5hp pump and 425sq ft cartridge filter ok?

I have to replace the original pump and filter on our 20 year old inground pool. 18x36 22k gallons, skimmer and main drain with two returns. Anyone have any input on RX clear brand from pool supplies.com?? I'm looking at the 1.5hp vs pump and a 425sqft cartridge filter. I was looking at the...

Need new pump and sand filter

Anyone have a 400+ sqft cartridge filter they recommend? All the big names seem to be over $1000 then there are Rx Clear brand ones for $500. I also see the waterway brand on poolsupplyunlimited.com that is in the middle around 850.

Need new pump and sand filter

Sounds like a plan! Thank you. I’m guessing it’s ok to use a 1.5 to 2 inch pvc reducer where the 1.5” pipes come out of the ground so the pipes to pump and filter will be 2”. I can’t even find a 400sqft filter with 1.5” anyways so would be best to buy the 3hp with 2” ports anyways.

My plumbing is all 1.5”. Would the 1.5hp be enough?

Need new pump and sand filter

Having trouble finding direct replacement of sand filter since they don’t make that one anymore. No automation. And rarely have to use the drain setting on multi valve.

Need new pump and sand filter

So came home today and pool pump wasn’t running and was cold to the touch. Have a GE digital pump timer and it had black stuff around it. Opened it up and wiring and circuit board inside are melted. Pump has been running hot all summer and was planning on replacing it and sand filter next spring...

    Leaking chlorinator

Hello, been doing some work on our older pool and have been fixing one leak after another. There is now a leak from the under side of a Hayward cl200 chlorinator. It only gets used when go out of town. I’m not great at plumbing and it looks like all the fittings are glued and not sure how to...

Paint flaking off steps. How to go about removing them?

Thanks, yeah gel coat makes sense. I almost think it is gel coat that is flaking. Pool is from 1994 so probably original. My main question was how to remove the step insert and can it be done with water in the pool or will pool have to be drained. Not sure how far the liner goes under the insert.

I added a photo. Yeah definitely not aluminum. Either fiberglass or plastic/vinyl

Paint flaking off steps. How to go about removing them?

Hello everyone, I have an inground liner pool and it has an aluminum (I think?) steps insert on shallow end. The blue paint has started flaking pretty bad on the steps. Does anyone know if the steps can be removed stripped and repainted without removing water from the pool? This is our first...

To winterize or not in central NC?

Hello everyone, first year as a pool owner. Wondering if I should drain down and close my pool or leave it open. I don't mind keeping it clean and adding chlorine all winter. I'm in central NC (greensboro) and it can get below freezing on occasion but historically not all that often, don't mind...

    Liner in gunite pool

This is only photo I have right now, I'm at work. I'll attempt to push liner back in place. Chemistry wasn't great when we first moved in, previous owner always used trichlor tablets so way too high cya. I've drained and filled about 15k gallons and cya is still around 90. Will do another drain...

Pool in limbo-new liner, water delivered, then....nothing

The square box with the basket in it that goes to the pump needs to be filled with water and the lid and gasket installed to close the system and hopefully the pump will prime and start moving water.
