12LB of DE in a 60 sqft filter?!

It gets better (or worse). I certainly do not claim to be an expert… but why is there an inline chlorine tab feeder immediately before the IntelliChlor?!?! PB advised homeowner no salt for TWO YEARS. Never heard that before. I started salt in my pool after the first month. Not sure what to...

12LB of DE in a 60 sqft filter?!

Yea I stopped arguing with him. The best part is he called his “Pentair rep” and the alleged “rep” was saying that 12# is correct. Guy is one of the biggest BS’ers I’ve come across in a long time.

12LB of DE in a 60 sqft filter?!

Ok, get this! New pool startup at my buddies house. The PB dumps 12 LBS of DE into the skimmer, basically all at once, for a FNS Plus 60 sqft filter. Yes, you read that correctly. 1/2 of a 24 LB bag of DE… TWICE the recommended amount. PB claims that is the correct amount and that is...

Plaster Cracks in Spa - Wet Edge Primera Stone

Thanks @onBalance. I called on Friday and they suggested I file a warranty claim with Wet Edge. I've started that process this morning. The Wet Edge warranty is not through the pool builder - it's direct to the homeowner, fortunately or unfortunately depending on how we look at it. I'll keep...

Plaster Cracks in Spa - Wet Edge Primera Stone

Hi everyone! Just de-winterized our pool last week and discovered some cracks in our Wet Edge Primera Stone finish in the spa. The finish is only two years old and is pretty much cracked in every corner of the spa to different degrees. The cracks are big enough that you can catch a fingernail...

    Expansion Joint

Thanks Texas Splash! I'll share some pictures along the way, especially after we get the HIDE skimmer covers cut & installed. I've got a few more days until we're ready to sand the joints so I'm hoping we get some replies :) Happy 4th to you also!

    Expansion Joint

Just ripped out 1,400 sq-ft of defective Belgard concrete pavers around the pool. Starting fresh with outdoor porcelain pavers (large format 24"x36"), dry laid on 1/4" clean chip (called HPB)... picture attached. These outdoor porcelain pavers are 3/4" thick and non-interlocking and are spaced...

Somewhat rough Wet Edge Primera Stone finish

Oh fantastic!! Orenda startup is great. Sorry, I misinterpreted what you were asking. Yes, our pool will be drained and re-polished in the spring (located in PA) once we reopen the pool. Wet Edge inspected the pool and advised the applicator that it needs a re-polish to remove the polishing...

Somewhat rough Wet Edge Primera Stone finish

The thing that ruined our finish was them doing the acid wash LAST. Make sure that they are NOT going to acid wash the pool after they complete the polishing. If they are, the only way to acid wash AFTER polishing is with extremely diluted acid that is washed off with water immediately. They...

Somewhat rough Wet Edge Primera Stone finish

Yea, it's quite a mess. Someone told us it looks like a 15-year old abused plaster job. Sadly for me it's only 30-days old

Somewhat rough Wet Edge Primera Stone finish

As an update to this post, I've attached pictures of our Primera Stone finish after 30-days. Everyone feel free to weigh in with your comments and don't hold back. We are not pleased at all with how mottled and "streaky" the finish appears (not to mention it's roughness due to the polishing...

Somewhat rough Wet Edge Primera Stone finish

Hi Herman, Our applicator is certified by Wet Edge and is listed on Wet Edge's website as one of their authorized applicators. I'm refraining from naming them at this time. We actually just received our Wet Edge warranty registration confirmation yesterday. I have time lapse video of our...

Somewhat rough Wet Edge Primera Stone finish

I believe I’m getting closer to figuring out what went wrong here. I’m hoping someone can weigh in here on the correct order of operations for Primera Stone application. The plaster was applied on Saturday. The pool sat all day Sunday for the plaster to harden up. On Monday the pool was...

Somewhat rough Wet Edge Primera Stone finish

Thanks Herman. PB came out this morning and agrees that something is definitely wrong with the feel of the surface. They are contacting the local Wet Edge rep as well as the applicator for next steps. We are only 7-days into the 28-day curing period so my guess is that nothing will happen...

Somewhat rough Wet Edge Primera Stone finish

Hi everyone, After a year under construction, we FINALLY had our pool plastered (Wet Edge Primera Stone Grigio Treasure) and filled last week. Overall it looks great.... BUT.... the finish is definitely not as smooth as I had anticipated. There are parts of the pool where the finish is as...

Muddy Water Leaking Around Pool Light Housings!

Hi Everyone! The pool has been gunited now for a few weeks, and during a very heavy rainstorm last week there was muddy water from outside the pool shell that was leaking into the pool from around the plastic light housings. Pictures are attached of the aftermath. Is this to be expected...
