RJ60 Plus installation question - will it fit here? alternatives?

Good ideas. I will need to double check if there is any issue installing at 45 degrees. That may be the path of least resistance!

RJ60 Plus installation question - will it fit here? alternatives?

I would like to install the cell then flow sensor inline where I have circled in red. Between the elbows is 19.5" of 1.5" pvc. I am reading the manual and it says the flow sensor is 4" and the cell is 15.75" - total of 19.75". Looks like I am just short, .25", to install it. Here's the...

    Heater supply gas pipe confusion

Looking at the picture above, do you know why I have a regulator right before the pool heater? Wondering why that is there..

    Heater supply gas pipe confusion

James, thank you for taking the time to respond. Gas company just confirmed they are delivering 2 PSI to the house and with my meter I can go up to 950 BTU at one time. The only other thing on that line for the pool heater is a fireplace that is not ran during pool season so I should be good...

    Heater supply gas pipe confusion

So if I am reading this right, my meter is capable of 425 CFH with 1/2 pipe? So sounds like I have the pressure and meter to use a 400k BTU heater with 5/8? The fireplace is only ran in winter when the pool is closed. Next step would be to get someone to come test pressure to verify before I...

    Heater supply gas pipe confusion

I believe there is a regulator, see picture. The line on the left is from the meter which is maybe 25 feet away. It is the 5/8 line. The line on the right goes to the fireplace in the pool house - it is 1/2 diameter. I believe the thing in between is a regulator? How can I tell meter rating? Is...

    Heater supply gas pipe confusion

I have a Jandy Laars LX 400k BTU heater that just died. It was installed in 2004. I was looking to replace it with the Raypak 406A equivalent but my pool guy is insisting that I go with the 336k BTU version because the supply gas line is a 5/8" diameter. Reading through the Jandy and Raypak...

Did you buy a house that already had a pool?

We did. I asked for their pool guy's info and for an inspection with him. Met onsite and walked through everything. It was great. He knew everything about the maintenance of the pool since he was the one completing it for years. Also told me all of the stuff coming up.. pool liner and cover...

Any recommendations for pool renovators in MN?

Looking to get quotes to renovate the pool deck, coping, new autocover, liner, and cover box. Doing research now but thought I would see if any of you are in MN and had recommendations based on personal experience?

Iron stains AA plus Metal Magic?

Which tablets exactly? I'll give it a whirl. Thanks Chris for posting this - and everyone that contributed. I am on well water and I have a dual all-house pentek for fill water (5 micron and .5 micron filters). I have slight staining on liner but the white fiberglass stairs are more severe...

    Pool opening water evaporation question

We opened our pool roughly a month ago. At that time, I tested and added chlorine and filled pool to normal operating level. For the next three weeks the temps in Minnesota swung back down to 30's/40's with occasional days into 50's/low 60's. The water temp was always well below 50 degrees so I...

How long is the average life of a vinyl liner?

Our liner guy/PB says 8-12 years depending. Not sure how accurate that is. First liner lasted only 5 years. Current one is 13 years old. Any day now... :)

    My Iron Stain Removal

I used this for poly: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002OUP6JE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Worked well after I treated with Metal out.. or was it Magic Jacks? don't recall... but whatever it was loosened the iron and the poly picked it up in the strainers.

Best Places to Buy Liquid Chlorine

In Minnesota I go to Fleet Farm. They sell 4 gallons (four 1 gallon jugs) for $16 and it is 12.5%. It works great. https://www.fleetfarm.com/detail/online-1-gal-swim-shock-liquid-pool-chlorinator-4-pk/0000000221388?bc=10708|10800|10801 They have pallets of it inside every year.

CYA testing...and the black dot magic trick

This is a great point. I did not even think to re-use the sample until someone pointed it out last year on here. Not to threadjack but a question I would like to clarify, where is the best place to take the sample? I thought I read in pool math that is was ~18ish inches down where the pool...

    Pool deck caulking question

We have been in our new home for a week and loving the pool. I noticed around the pool deck that none of the expansion or control joints in the concrete are caulked. Should they be caulked or is there a reason to leave them as is? We live in Minnesota.

    Hello, new pool owner

4 hours later with some swimming: FC: 8.5 CC: .5 TC: 9 pH: 6.8 TA: 130 CH: 325 CYA: 140 FC is dropping. I’m going to take care of the CYA tomorrow. Is draining from one end, and filling from other, the best bet for solving? Knowing I’m at 140 and 22k gallons does that mean I need to replace...

    Hello, new pool owner

Hello, been looking over this site for a few weeks before we closed on our new home with a pool this week. had a TF100 ready to go! Previous owner was using Clorox trichloro tabs in skimmers as well as shock, Algaecide, and “clear”. I am looking to switch everything to the TFP method. I...
