    Float storage

I had some old wood laying around and built this in the corner of the yard. I just put some bunnies across the top to keep things in. Works good for us.

    Tricks for dissolving CYA

I found out this year that not all 100% cya dissolves the same for some reason. I had two 3lb socks each with different cya. One was from home depot and the other was from in the swim. The one from home depot would squish out in no time and the one from in the Swin never did. It ended up taking...

You need to tell it how much CL you want to generate and then it will tell you the percentage. Like this

Getting started dog in pool, SLAM, etc.

You may want to try cleaning your test vial with some alcohol. Sometimes they are dirty and the reason for persistent Cc readings. I think you'll have to get the pool clear and keep the dog out for 3 to 5 days to get a good baseline before coming up with a go forward plan.

Pre pool opening (white water mold)

If you haver an autocover, have you inspected the cover pit? I couldn't pass a slam until I started dumping 5 gallon buckets of pool water into the well to flush it out. I also cleaned the top of my cover with pool water and pumped it off. It was pretty tedious but I passed shortly after.

    Why didn't my calcium drop?

That's a very good point, I didn't think of it that way. I'll have to measure how far down the returns are but I'll bet you are correct. Thanks

    Why didn't my calcium drop?

Hi, When the pool was closed last November the water level was dropped at least 16 inches and the solid loop loc cover put on. Starting in Feb, I started pumping the snow melt and rain from the cover into the pool to start filling it up. I did this with the hopes of dropping my calcium level...

Let’s see your water after removing winter cover!! *PICS THREAD*

I've been waiting weeks to post on this thread :) I was a bit worried since I've been pumping cover water in for a few months to dilute my calcium levels. Outside of a few worms it looks great, although hard to tell from the pics. Water temp is 46 degrees.

Jandy 1HP Pump for sale - Chicagoland

I have a 1HP single speed Jandy PlusHP pump for sale. It only has about 15 months of run time on it. Works great, I just replaced it last fall with a VSP pump. If someone from the area is interested, please DM me. Asking $500 from the TFP family before trying other sale options. Thanks

Total alkalinity test turns blue, not red

I do use a smart stir and I agree the first change is dramatic, if I do a another drop is darkens even more (looks dark red to me) and stops there. I always assumed the last color change was the endpoint, this test seems to be the opposite. The first color change I see matches the video above...

Total alkalinity test turns blue, not red

I just read on here recently that the salt test is the exception to this rule. That test goes to a salmon color and then brick red, you want the salmon. Can someone confirm this?

    Floating deck, best sealer?

I used this on a patio cover, not a deck, and it absorbed great and seems to be holding up very well although it's only been about 2 years. I haven't noticed any fading or imperfections. At this point I would definitely use it again...

Pre pool opening (white water mold)

There should be a drain in there, maybe hose it down until the dirt and sludge rinse away and then use pool water to disinfect?

Pre pool opening (white water mold)

I was struggling to pass the oclt last year with crystal clear water for a week. It wasn't until I cleaned the auto cover and the well that I passed. I chucked a few 5 gallon buckets of chlorinated water into the well to flush anything that may be in there.

Pool Chlorine Level Keeps Dropping (Please help! Incurring astronomic costs in chemicals)

The chlorine is not dropping during the day since your SWG is making up for the losses. That's why it's usually recommended to turn it off during a slam. Although with your lack of chlorine supply I can see why you would leave it on.

30 Days after fill - Large blotchy spot and yellow/brownish colored steps

I have blue surf as well and if you look at my profile and scroll through the media images you'll see it matches the lighter areas of your pool. Those darker areas are the issue and not how it is all supposed to look. Unfortunately I can't offer reasons why those areas are darker but I would try...
