    Doheny's Discovery, S200, Active20, Triton owners club

Re: Doheny's Discovery, S200, Active20, Triton owners club Mine is working great! I don't have the caddy but might mount the power on the deck railing. So much better than a Pool Rover Jr and the $1000 Polaris P825 from Leslies Pool.

    Doheny Discovery

Mine is running right now. Seems very nice so far. Just got it a few days ago. Climbs and cleans well. Does some wheelies for some reason? Very easy to clean.

    Doheny's Discovery, S200, Active20, Triton owners club

Re: Doheny's Discovery, S200, Active20, Triton owners club Just ordered that myself. Hopefully it will work well. Far too many models to choose from in all price ranges.

Dolphin Premier vs Aquabot Elite: any advise or suggestions or experiences?

I'm looking at both of those as well. Leaning towards the Elite as it might be easier to clean. And I have trees! So Jim's comment above it well taken in account. Wish I could see them locally. None of the local dealers have much in stock and only seem to recommend models that are $1500.

    AGP Robot decision help

So far recommendations are: Dolphin Nautilus Plus Aquabot X4 or Elite Anyone tried either one? Any reason to go with the Elite? At $1047 it's pricey but has a 3 yr warranty and scheduled cleanings and taking the filters out with it still in the water looks easy. Seems wife friendly :) If it's...

    AGP Robot decision help

I need some help! So much confusion calling local dealers. Some say yes, some say no. I'm looking for a robot cleaner to replace my deceased Pool Rover JR. Hated the tangled cord and cleaning that bag. Looking around here, google and local stores comes up with different answers. Locally most...

Aqua Trol - No Flow error with RJ Unit

I don't think it's a clone but I'm not sure how to tell. Everything looks like Hayward. Software version 1.45. Confirmed that I can change it from AL-0 to 5. No 6 or 7 available. She said I was the 4th person that day to call with a similar problem from Amazon. I might just order a flow switch...

Aqua Trol - No Flow error with RJ Unit

I purchased an AQ-TROL-RJ-TL. Hooked up easily and manual says it does not need a flow control since it's a return jet and it being vertical. I cannot get it out of no flow error code. I called Hayward support a couple days ago and she said I need to check the AL level under diagnostics. It...

    BBQ Build In the Works

I'm going with 2 fridges. One lockable one (kids) for beverages in the bar area and one with a freezer section near the grill for food (and some ice). Mine is a big L and I know people will just mingle around the bar area. Looking at your sink with drawers under it. You may want a regular door...

Any problem building with used metal studs?

I bought 400' of each just in case. Easier to return than have to go in the middle of the project for 2-3 more. Scraps % is small because you can use them for angle braces. I also used almost 1000 screws if that helps. Get some good gloves, magnetic level, (2) non-pivoting vise grips. Pivoting...

Grill Island Redesign - seeking advice

You could build a steel frame within the island no problem for support. Be pretty easy and inexpensive to do. I don't think you would need more than 3 tracks and 3-4 studs.

Any problem building with used metal studs?

I agree. As long as they are in good structural shape they should be fine. I just finished my 1st project with them. Fun and different than 2x4s. My outdoor kitchen is an L. 12' x 20'. Somehow the 8'x8' grew.... I used 350' of track and 300' of stud. Still finishing the outer skin of hardie...

    New build. Advice?

I think it's transformer to dimmer to light. How did you hide the wire under the counter? They stick and stay on well? I was going to order led lights that are $20each so this would save me about $200. I just want to make sure it's reliable and mounting is secure.

Adding a 2nd return on oval pool?

I have a 2 speed pump and prefer to run it on low with the heater running. With the return on the end of the pool the water doesn't really reach the other end easily. I was thinking of adding a 2nd return on the other end to help heat up faster and to help circulate the water better. Is this a...

    New build. Advice?

I'm about 1/2 way done with the framing for mine. Looking for lighting ideas now. What did you use? I was thinking of doing stucco on the side but will have to see if I can find a deal like you got on the stone. I am also planning on doing a concrete counter top. I agree - you can make it...

    New Patio area - ODK

Thanks for the clarification. I guess I should learn how to do metal studs! I think I have the advantage of running behind the patio area and not have to worry about pulling up pavers. Just dirt or grass or woods to deal with. The latice work is the back part of the pool deck. Here's the area...

    New Patio area - ODK

I'm in the process of planning an ODK. We had a stone wall put in last year along with leveling out a nice size area (1800sqft) for the patio near the pool. Due to time, weather, budget etc. the patio was not finished. I put down and compacted a crushed stone base with stone dust on top last...

    Adjustment Help

Thanks just learned something new. Lots of that went on today! No heater installed yet but they kids still had lots of fun even though it seemed a little chilly. I keep forgetting to put in the thermometer. I dove in after working on the deck some more and it felt great on this hot memorial day!

    Adjustment Help

I thought I had that in my profile - now fixed. I'm in CT with a good amount of sun most of the day. How does pH rise on it's own? Glad to hear I'm good where I have been trying to keep most of it. It seems almost to easy with the BBB method. Although I've only had to use 1 B.

    Adjustment Help

Now that my FC levels are stable and the water looks great I need a little help with some adjustments. Not sure what to adjust first. FC: 5.5 pH: 7.0 T/A: 70 CYA: 30 Vinyl pool so I didn't test CH. I know the pH is low so should I attack that one first? Thanks!

Deck around pool and skimmer cover?

I think I know what you mean. How much clearance should I have from the skimmer on all sides? The decking was planned to fan out from the edge. The ends of the decking will be placed just under the top rail with about 1/4" clearance. For the winter cover I'm going to get an in-ground cover...

Deck around pool and skimmer cover?

Here's a couple pics. I think it will be easy enough to do but not sure the best way to do it. Hopefully the pictures and comments will explain enough. I'm using 5/4x3 1/2" grooved ipe w/ hidden fasteners. I like the hatch idea which I don't mind screwing from the top. Hinged would be nice.

Deck around pool and skimmer cover?

That is a good idea. I will see how I can frame it to elevate it while still giving it strength to stand on.
