Fix-A-Leak - Flush with clean water before or after 72-hr cure???

Hi everyone - We flushed the system last night at the 72-hr mark and my husband spent this morning rebuilding the plumbing from right before the valves on the suction side into the pump. New o-rings throughout. First go at priming hasn't been successful. Uhhhhh. Stay tuned.

Fix-A-Leak - Flush with clean water before or after 72-hr cure???

Hi all - We've had a heck of a time with our 20x40' vinyl in-ground this summer. Opened Easter weekend and over the next week figured out we had a leak somewhere....water level visibly declining over several days and it's not that hot in Kansas City in April for evaporation. Plugged the...

Pump won't prime after leak detection

Hi TFP'ers - We have a 20*40 vinyl in ground pool, replaced the pump 2 seasons ago. Winterized ourselves and opened the pool up Easter weekend this year. Water was high but plugs were in place. Got the system up and running and noticed we were losing about an inch of water a day. Plugged the...

    D1 Breeze or Sojourn thoughts?

Thank you! So interesting how the different supply chain bottlenecks manifest around the country... Cheers!

    D1 Breeze or Sojourn thoughts?

Hi all - Looking at buying our first hot tub and the dealer I like sells bullfrog, D1, and Tuff Spas. The tuff spa is just ugly...sorry. Bullfrog is a great option but lead times are crazy which we all know. I hadn't read or heard much about D1 but their supply chain doesn't seem so impacted...

    Heavy snow/rain on new cover

Hi! Just put our new cover on a few weeks ago (first winter in this house) and this is our first snow/sleet event. There's just half an inch or so of precipitation, but it's very heavy. Cover is now touching the pool water that we dropped below the jets/return....about 14" from the deck surface...

Replace Anchor Industries mesh safety cover

Hi all! First season closing up the pool and the house came with an ancient (1998) Anchor Industries mesh safety cover. It's super funky and has probably a dozen tennis ball sized holes so we need to replace. Cover is for 40x20 with 4x8 center steps. Anchors are 3' off the edge of the pool and...

Pentair IntelliBrite 5G vs J&J Color Splash XG?

Hi all - We have an old Pentair incandescent light that hasn't worked since we bought the house last October. Earlier this spring some contractors rebuilt the deck and cut the cable so now it REALLY doesn't work! Looking at replacing with the Pentair IntelliBrite 5G or J&J Color Splash XG...

Algae getting worse early in SLAM?

Sorry...you're blowing my mind a little there! How is 22FC at 50CYA < 1FC at 0CYA? Is it all about the dampening effect of CYA? Thanks for the go-ahead - they will be thrilled!

Algae getting worse early in SLAM?

Swim at SLAM level FC? It honestly didnt occur to me that that would be safe or comfortable. I can count the holes in the deep end return so it definitely passes that test. We deep cleaned the sand filter a few weeks ago and it was dirty, but not slimy or gritty. We've been backwashing...

Algae getting worse early in SLAM?

Hi everyone! Pool has been out of commission for just about 3 weeks now and my family is restless to say the least. Water has been crystal clear for a week now but we're still having algae drop every day. Appears to be yellow/brown and granular in nature. We've been religiously maintaining the...

Algae getting worse early in SLAM?

Main drain is operational. Only found a few 3" pucks from the previous owner....no weird bottles or buckets. Husband just took water to Leslie's and results below. Completely bewildered by the FC level! I feel like I need to post a video of me doing the test so you know I'm not an idiot! I did...
